He talked his way into the Belgian job. They are the number 1 team in the world despite having him as manager, not because of him manager. Interestingly I saw that Shaun Malony who played under him at Wigan, is now on the Belgian coaching staff, telling hazard, de Bruyne, Lukaku et al how to play.

Thing is at least with a National team ...you're not out signing or competing for many players. Oh you're Belgian ?! OK ....

Mirallas (x2)
Martina (x2)
Bolasie
Sandro
Virginia

Players on our books that have been sent back early from loan spells in the past 3 years because they are so bad at football.

That is astonishing. To be fair to Mirallas though, he did give us some good moments in Moyes' last season / Martinez's first.

It had nothing to do with luck. He had a great first season. McCarthy, Barry, Stones and Lukaku were tremendous signings.

His other two seasons were pretty crap though. It happens, there doesn't have to be a reason for his first season being a good one.

Stones was Moyes' last signing.

Bobby certainly wasn't our worst manager of the past five years - Koeman takes that honor, for me. Purely because of that astonishingly bad July / August 2017 transfer window.

I imagine we couldn't afford to pay him off last year but now things have eased a bit and his new club didn't want him any more the club have probably chosen just to cut their losses.

Oh yeah of course he was.

I would say Silva was worse than either of them. It's a weird one with Silva though, nobody seems to actually hate him like they do Koeman or Martinez yet nobody seems to like him either. He was just there, I can barely remember anything about him.

International football jobs are not that big a deal. He is the Belgium manager because he couldn't get a club job at the time, same with Southgate.

Makes me think something is going on here

Comes back from his loan and then gets released

Maybe he did something whilst out on loan to get himself sent back and we've cancelled his contract for it? He might have possibly breached it somehow perhaps

Or maybe we've just paid him off
Wouldn’t surprise me. Look at the size of the bloke, he wasn’t remotely interested in the football.

I said Silva would turn out lol that when we he was still at the helm. I think it’s because every part of him being at Everton was so predictable and his tenure went pretty much the way everyone thought it would. None of it was a surprise

That's true - pretty much everyone thinks Silva was out of his depth, but he did at least do his best and seemed to like Everton. He just wasn't up to the job.
