Distin perhaps, but Osman and especially Hibbert are still useful squad players and rewarding club servants is rarely a bad thing.

Martinez's problem is that he is trying to implement a way of playing that is similar to what some of the big teams are doing but with no money and - this season at least - older, slower, and less gifted players. We are too slow and everyone in the league either knows how to play against that sort of thing or is at least familiar with it.

For me, what happens in January is going to make or break this season. Stay relatively injury free, drop Barry, and sign one or two players that could add pace, directness and take some of the pressure off Coleman / Baines / Mirallas etc and we would look a much better side. If its true that Salah is available for loan in January we should be first in the queue.
The problem is that we have too many players who have been good servants to the club and a couple who have been signed recently. We can't keep them all.

He needs to prioritize who we can afford to keep and who needs to be moved on.

It's sad but time moves on. For me Pienaar, Hibbert, Distin and Howard have had their day.

Allardyce though ? Seriously lads ?

One fluke season and people want SAM ALLARDYCE to manage EVERTON hahahahahahaha.

Rather be relegated than have him manage us.
West Ham are playing better stuff than us this season mate.

His Bolton side wasnt as bad as people hav e made out either. Know a few Bolton fans and they won't hear a bad word about him

I could be wrong but before today we only had 3 of our regular squad players/subs who had not been injured this season. Jags , howard and mcgeady. Which leaves mcgeady! .

24 games (excluding Krasnodar Home)

Start-sub-unused sub-replaced

Howard 24-0-0-1 (no absence before 2nd half today)
Jags 23-0-0-1
Baines 21-0-0-0 (now the only first team player not to have been taken off)
Lukaku 20-4-0-6 (not missed a game)
Barry 20-0-0-2

Coleman 15-1-2-1
McCarthy 15-0-1-1
Distin 15-0-1-1
Naismith 14-2-2-4
McGeady 13-5-5-11 (most replaced player)
Mirallas 12-2-1-8
Eto'o 11-7-3-4 (equal with Osman as most used sub, not selected for one game and not available for the first two games of the season before signing)
Besic 10-5-8-1
Barkley 10-2-1-4
Stones 8-0-4-1
Hibbert 8-0-7-2
Osman 7-7-6-1

all others less than 5 starts

Given that we have, by common consent around 24 senior professionals and, of those, quite a few have been unavailable for a number of games, we are struggling for a full side. Only Robles, Lukaku and Howard have been selected (18 players) for every game - Jags, McGeady, Besic, Eto'o* (all bar 1), Baines (3) and Barry (4) so we're struggling to get a full experienced side on the pitch.

Three and a half of those players were not involved today and we were still awful. Any ideas?
