This season, as I said fluke. How many times have you seen an Allardyce side play this ever ? When he was at Bolton and they made the Europa League ? How long ago was that mate ?
Wonder who Wigan fans would have preferred. The man who took Wigan from midtable to relegation battles and eventual relegation or the proven PL manager in Sam.

That's what it comes down to mate. Sam is proven in this league, our chump isn't.

Not even to say that I'd want him here but completely dismissing him when Martinez has had 1 good season in the Prem EVER is laughable

To me mate it seems like Martinez's last season was more of a fluke than anything mate.

Europa League is my best bet, we look completely different in that - actually look like a team able to play good Football.

That hasn't even got competitive yet - now the stakes have got higher with the CL the 8 clubs who've dropped out of that will begin to flex their muscle.

To be fair, wolfsburg are better than most teams that are dropping into the europa, and lille are usually a champions league team

Allardyce has a win percentage almost identical to Martinez.

Difference is, Martinez is more fashionable than Allardyce so will get looked on more preferably.

How is it laughable to not want Allardyce managing Everton ? It's Sam [Poor language removed] Allardyce, the same fella booted out of Newcastle when the expectations became harder than just getting 40 points with Bolton. The same fella who sends his sides out to kick [Poor language removed] out of the opposition and believes in Possession Football ? We had that Moyes, it's a big [Poor language removed] no to having that back again.

Think he may have had a falling out with Roberto. It's well documented that he didn't really get on well with Strachan at Celtic, and he fell out with his manager at Spartak. Bizarre that he hasn't featured at all in the last couple of games, especially seeing as we are very lightweight in that position.

Roberto's a different kind of manager. Falling out normally occurs when managers tell players to do one when they're not delivering to their potential. Roberto doesn't see the negative aspect of his style. Injuries today may have caused him to leave Mcgeady out but when you wanna stretch defences, do one twos with players, add spark then you need wingers even if that means bringing Andy Van Der Meyde off the bench.

Well i just think it's laughable some have such a knob on for Martinez when his CV is so threadbare

Distin perhaps, but Osman and especially Hibbert are still useful squad players and rewarding club servants is rarely a bad thing.

Martinez's problem is that he is trying to implement a way of playing that is similar to what some of the big teams are doing but with no money and - this season at least - older, slower, and less gifted players. We are too slow and everyone in the league either knows how to play against that sort of thing or is at least familiar with it.

For me, what happens in January is going to make or break this season. Stay relatively injury free, drop Barry, and sign one or two players that could add pace, directness and take some of the pressure off Coleman / Baines / Mirallas etc and we would look a much better side. If its true that Salah is available for loan in January we should be first in the queue.
We'd look a much better side now if many of these players would stop acting like utter cowards on the ball. Today they all froze on the ball in parts of the pitch where a real decision was needed to try and make something happen - a run or an incisive pass. They were all guilty of shirking the responsibility and playing it sideways or backwards instead. It's been like that before, but today it got to epidemic proportions. They are a frightened bunch of players, and we're really finding out the character of many of them now when the going is tough.

Whats Allardyce got to beat him mate ? A few promotions with sides that were expected to win the league and getting up through the play offs ? A 40 % win percentage with West Ham, 41% with Bolton, 33% with Newcastle and 34% with Blackburn, overall of 39% for his career ?

Martinez has got an FA Cup, 47% with us, 28 with Wigan and 50% with Swansea.

Tell me whats so good about Allardyce mate ? You can't even split them. Bet you would have laughed last season had someone said Allardyce over Martinez. Fickle game this Football.

No, not at the moment. But if we lose to both Newcastle and Hull...and then go out of the Cup....

'Pivotal' (to use his own description) 11 days coming up.

I'm not sure it's shirking responsibility but they look scared to take a punt and gamble. RM is responsible for this as he has obviously drummed into them to keep the ball and play backwards rather than taking a risk.

Last season we played without fear or shakles, completely the opposite this season

Stats wise maybe, the eye test has them completely different.

You didn't answer my question either, had someone said to you get Allardyce in to replace him (say the summer) Would you have gone for it ? No probably not is my guess. So why now ? Cos he's boss atm ? Spurs do that and we're not them. He's flavour of the month, whats going to happen when his best players go off to the AFCON and they get found ? Even if we're still [Poor language removed] and they start dropping off, will you say Allardyce is so much better than Martinez ?
