Why obviously? The manager's tactics are the ones he used last season. Isn't it just the players not performing which is the obvious reason?

Yes, I think so too.
Yeah because it's your opinion you must be right. Quit living in last season and wake up and realise Martinez tactics have been worked out by even the lower teams in the prem.

Yes, it is the players too of course but are they too scared they'll get into trouble for putting their foot through the ball that they'd rather play stupid, risky passes around the box - as 1 example ?

Or am I wasting my time trying to have a civil debate with you ?

We lost 4 games a row in december that year, but we only dropped to 17th. Which is bad, but it isn't bottom.

But yeah, we were dire that year. And we rightly didn't panic and kept faith with the manager who'd got us 4th the year before. And we weren't that bad again under Moyes.

I'll panic if Martinez was managing us in 17th position back then, we'll be passing our way to relegation at that time if he's in charge. Similar story to wigan I suppose. Moyes made some changes and repeatedly mention a need to get back to basic, Martinez says we're doing fine and will keep doing the same. This is the most worrying part for me.

It's that sort of stuff I can't comprehend.

Something needs to happen though, but what? I say seriously strengthen next month - spend on quality (I've said Cech above, for a start).
We need to freshen things up. I'd be surprised if Martinez isn't looking to do that. If he gets no money to do it I'd consider him to be marking time as Everton boss...which would possibly be the biggest black mark against this chairman's woeful tenure as there's been.

I'm not denying it's been poor this season. If anyone looked at my posts about Martinez this season it's littered with criticism from start to almost finish. But there's a massive difference between criticising a manager under-performing and demanding better to wanting that manager unceremoniously kicked out the door when we're in zero danger at the moment.

I tell you what's happening on here and other forums: it's a hysteria whipped up by a handful of posters who are no friends of this football club.

I cant wait until we turn this around...and we will. These people will go back to whence they came and we wont have to put up with them.

Of course we gotta stick by him but I think he will realise soon enough what type of club he is at (not a Wigan or swansea) if he doesn't get results over Jan. He won't be allowed to play that slow dribble tactic he is playing now. The intensity will be increased by the demand from evertonians come February and we will save him maybe from taking a team down. We won't be sitting on our asses freezing cold watching ticki tackie getting no results. That I can guarantee. That's why I feel safe being a blue.

I'm not one for sacking managers but every game this season iv been to at Goodison this year witch is every home game we have been dire were do you think he can change this?
As he said post match, we literally need a break from somewhere. We need one decent win and we stop the rot and turn the tide.

No Evertonian will ever go into a game hoping to get beat, so wind ye neck in.

We've listened to you berate chairmen, ceo's, coaching staff, players and ex players to fulfill your own self arrogance.

You're more concerned with the RS than Everton and that was proven more than any last season; you preach about RM and his record points total yet spent the majority of the time on this forum spouting drivel in the 'world football' forum.

You can't see the wood for the tree's and can't accept people have different views from you; it's black and white with you, no middle. You ridicule members on this board for either saying something positive for the board or negative against RM. You've called for Moyes head for far less than what's happened this year, you call Brenda a fraud for talking the same drivel as RM.

You're the most self centred, self obsessed poster I have ever come across on any Internet forum.

I've sometimes absolutely fumed at @davek for his comments about Naismith (arguably the best goal scorer at the club).

I disagree with much of what he's said about Everton at times.

I agree entirely on what he's said about Liverpool Football Club. They're a shower who's spent £110 million on rubbish.

However I would say Dave has been spot on today. There is an agenda being pursued. Some of it whipped up by fakes from other football clubs (Example: United fans pretending to be Evertonians now banned from GOT).

Martinez for me can go sign two new players. Then we judge him. Not when his net spend is relatively low compared to other clubs and there are genuine reasons for us not performing.

Even with the squad we're having atm, we should be doing a whole lot better than we currently are. That's not being anti Martinez, but just my honest opinion.

This season is the Moyes-Martinez transition one. Last season lulled us all a little into thinking it was going to be a seamless one. This summer's transfer window will be vital. I expect a lot of 'deadwood' to be cast adrift and Martinez choices to take their place. A clear picture of EFC under Martinez will emerge then.
Having said that, it is vital that we avoid getting sucked into the black hole of relegation struggles this season. It truly is a 'let's just get to 40 points' type of situation, and the team needs our support to get them there.

It's sickening to think we could have to go through all this again in the Hull aftermath and maybe the cup game.

Just accept this is a season to forget and live with it.

FFS, you'd think we'd been scooping up trophies left right and centre for years.

...and try and remember who had us playing that great footy last season and who racked up the record number of points - something the pitchforkers dont like to address.

...and (I cant believe it's left to me to say this) stay POSITIVE!!!!

I am not sure about his transfer dealings. He kept handing old players new contracts and players like Robles, McGeady and Alcaraz are not the standard of players we shall look for.

Time for Kenwright to simply walk into the transfer market again.

You backed Martinez from the off, you said you wanted him, and now you are putting yourself ahead of Everton by rather us stick with him than you look wrong. It is so obvious.
