It's sickening to think we could have to go through all this again in the Hull aftermath and maybe the cup game.

Just accept this is a season to forget and live with it.

FFS, you'd think we'd been scooping up trophies left right and centre for years.

...and try and remember who had us playing that great footy last season and who racked up the record number of points - something the pitchforkers dont like to address.

...and (I cant believe it's left to me to say this) stay POSITIVE!!!!
Your turning into billy graham the evangelist.
The more you try and tell posters not to have an opinion and bow to you the more they will get their point across.

I am not sure about his transfer dealings. He kept handing old players new contracts and players like Robles, McGeady and Alcaraz are not the standard of players we shall look for.
I know where you are coming from. But I think that was a softly softly approach to becoming Everton manager. The events of this season dictate a more ruthless, heavy pruning approach since next season decides his reputation (imo)

I've sometimes absolutely fumed at @davek for his comments about Naismith (arguably the best goal scorer at the club).

I disagree with much of what he's said about Everton at times.

I agree entirely on what he's said about Liverpool Football Club. They're a shower who's spent £110 million on rubbish.

However I would say Dave has been spot on today. There is an agenda being pursued. Some of it whipped up by fakes from other football clubs (Example: United fans pretending to be Evertonians now banned from GOT).

Martinez for me can go sign two new players. Then we judge him. Not when his net spend is relatively low compared to other clubs and there are genuine reasons for us not performing.

your font work needs improving Damo

I am still preparing to let him manage Everton until the end of season because I have now accepted this PL season is a total failure. I hope Martinez does wake up eventually and smell the coffee.

Lose against Hull and West Ham then questions will be asked. It shouldn't come to that anyway, we have more than enough quality to get a result in at least one of those games.

Forget systems/formations (of which I've been critical), the players need to sort it out and fight for their manager. If they're still showing the desire and commitment then Martinez will be fine.

Na .....I'm actually a fan. Think he is not used to his strengths. Give him chances he will finish no doubt. Needs to grow his locks back maybe. Get him decent service he's 20 a season

You know, we might look back on this currently difficult period and see it as an important one in our progression. Sometimes, adversity provides a good window to see things clearly. And Everton clearly need changes; changes in personnel and on-field leadership. I will judge Martinez by how he implements these...so I will watch the summer transfer window with interest, the pre-season build up with interest and season 2015/16 with a LOT of interest.

That's the nature of a slump...it's awful.

The thing about a slump though is that if everyone remains positive, calm and does their job, you get out of it.

That's what we should do then: be positive and calm and let the players and manager do their job without piling more pressure on them.

That sounds like a good plan to me.

Or we could all just throw our handbags in the air and start shrieking

To be fair Dave, I find you quite an interesting read on here. Plus often agree, with your views.

With this slump, though, he needs to find his way soon. This doesn't include, playing eto'o, in midfield.
