Still in 2 cup competitions, and not directly in a relegation battle (though admittedly getting closer with each defeat).

All this 'get beat at Hull and he should be sacked' stuff is just knee-jerking.

Moyes had several spells like this where it seemed a cert he would go and we always came through them.

The problem is, this is the first bad spell Martinez has had at Everton, so people can't say with any certainty or absolute conviction that we will turn it round. It all boils down to faith at this point.

Martinez' success last season made a rod for his own back. In numerous ways it was our best season for 27 years (best for points and wins), so this season was always likely not to be as good, and therefore seem disappointing.

This season if we get that many we'll probably just be avoiding relegation.

Excellent points, the problem i have is the manner of our defeats, lots of individual mistakes, very poor team selections and Martinez refusal to change the tactics when its clear the pass pass pass is not working

I won't agree with you on everything mate but this time I couldn't agree more. It's not about opinions, it's about pure and utter [Poor language removed] bellwhiffery from certain posters who just love to see the same [Poor language removed] posted by themselves time and time again. I don't mind an opinion but we can't even get through a [Poor language removed] 1st half without someone saying Martinez should make 3 subs and it's like folk are buzzing because he's made a mistake.

Get behind the lads or [Poor language removed] off is all I've got to say on the matter. I've seen shitter teams than this and darker times than this. Yes we can do better and yes it's o.k to have a rant but there's tits on here who I swear are [Poor language removed] creaming there pants at the minute like they think they because it's sound on Fifa it must be sound in real life.

IF he ever gets sacked it will be because he's lost the dressing room. If anyone thinks that was a side who had no faith in the manager they are [Poor language removed] deluded. That was a side at rock bottom of confidence 3-1 down and not performing naturally and we either stick together and get them out of this [Poor language removed] along with the manager or we continue to stuck the knife in like a shower of [Poor language removed] Kopites. Rant over. [Poor language removed] sick of it.
So we've got to "get them out of this"????? Let them pay us all £50,000 a week then.

Great post mate.

The sad fact of the matter is that there are Evertonians who'll go into the Hull game praying we get beat so they can see the back of a fine and decent young manager. No question about that. That claim is right on the money.

No doubt they'll start shrieking over that, but they know it in their bones they want Martinez out so much they'd want us beaten.
Utter garbage mate. I'm a critic of RM but I'd be ecstatic if he was to prove my fears unfounded and launch us back on the path we thought we were on last season. I'd be astounded if ANY Evertonian wanted differently.

Of course we gotta stick by him but I think he will realise soon enough what type of club he is at (not a Wigan or swansea) if he doesn't get results over Jan. He won't be allowed to play that slow dribble tactic he is playing now. The intensity will be increased by the demand from evertonians come February and we will save him maybe from taking a team down. We won't be sitting on our asses freezing cold watching ticki tackie getting no results. That I can guarantee. That's why I feel safe being a blue.
The crowd in the past was always something you could rely on when the going got tough, but the soporific stuff we play these days would send even the most whipped up GP crowd into a stupor within 10 minutes of kick off. People who were there will tell you that however the games were going against Wimbledon in '94 and Coventry in '99 (?) the crowd never stopped roaring the team on. I'm not sure it would do so again under the current style of play.
