One of the problems is that certain other teams change managers like (hygienic) people change socks.

It used to be seen as farcical and out of the ordinary, yet in recent years it has seemingly become part of the norm, and that your club is seen as weak or a strange case if you don't boot your manager out after the first bad run of games.

Everything is driven by Sky hype and a betting industry constantly making massive mountains out of molehills to drive up managerial betting odds, and when fans start to be brainwashed into believing it all, that's when things get sad (and dangerous).

People need to have some perspective and not kneejerk, and if you're not happy, come to terms with the fact that things might and probably will change for the better (eventually).

And without going all arl arse, things have been tons and tons worse than it is right now. This is not a crisis, it's just a bad run of form, with the squad be-set by injuries, suspensions, poor form and low confidence. It's the perfect s*** storm, so to speak.

Leicester away
Arsenal home
Crystal palace home
Man utd away
Spurs away
Hull home
Newcastle away

Pathetic defending in these games the difference between our current position and being in the top 6. Teams now just sit back knowing they will be served up a cock up or two from our piss poor defensive play.

Martinez totally ignored the lack of cover and quality we had defensively in the summer imo

Blowing 28m on one player was ludicrous for a team in our position

Except he renewed Brownings contract, brought in Galloway and had Stones, Jags, Distin and Alcaraz all injury free and forming the 3rd best defence of the league last season.

Still in 2 cup competitions, and not directly in a relegation battle (though admittedly getting closer with each defeat).

All this 'get beat at Hull and he should be sacked' stuff is just knee-jerking.

Moyes had several spells like this where it seemed a cert he would go and we always came through them.

The problem is, this is the first bad spell Martinez has had at Everton, so people can't say with any certainty or absolute conviction that we will turn it round. It all boils down to faith at this point.

Martinez' success last season made a rod for his own back. In numerous ways it was our best season for 27 years (best for points and wins), so this season was always likely not to be as good, and therefore seem disappointing.
You are right that positions on RM all boil down to faith. But can we please stop referring to this as 'a bad spell' -- it's 18 matches long FFS. Accordingly, also drop the references to this being knee jerking.

Three CBs over 32 and a kid , one has injury problems and one is near to drawing his pension

No proper cover at RB leaving us with Hibbert

He's bought one defender fit for the first team since being at the club, so he has neglected it imo

Pardew got Newcastle 5th one season.

Rodgers nearly won the title last season.

Can't judge a manager from one season, problem is we have looked awful all season and it went from martinez and his awful team selections to the players actually looking like they have given up. That's the problem for me has he lost the dressing room?

He lost the fans with his barkley and eto'o on the wings malarkey have the players actually got fed up with it? It's okay having players like barry, eto'o and lukaku when it's going well but these lads are winners and when it's going wrong can easily go off the boil, look at what happens at clubs like Utd, Spur, RS etc. When the manager loses the dressing room

I told you guys not to expect the same as last season, the league was a lot weaker. Who cares if you finish 7-8th... as long as you play good football and younger players have another season of progress. You was never going to finish above us this season.

I bet none of you was saying that in the summer though.
Wrong again chum. Many weren't. Wanting Lukaku is one thing. Agreeing with spending all our war kitty on him was something else, particularly when we could have got your fella Bony for £10m less and fulfilled his wish to play for one of the great British clubs.

Can't believe we lost 5 of the last 7 Premier League games.

4 points out of 21 is an incredibly low amount of points to take out of what were available...

The second half of the season really is make or break.

Barkley and mcgeady defending on and outside the penalty area today. Giving goals away when they should be further up field pushing their team back. A prime example that we have no faith in our defence and no leaders. Look at Chelsea with Terry or City with Kompany. No we have a 37 yr old ex Portsmouth player.
