No. Because you're bloody lucky to get over 60 on the motorways by me what with congestion or smart motorways, so no point.

Personally I don't go over 70-75 anyway due to the ever declining mpg the faster you go. Fuel is expensive yo!

Same here in my van.

Very rarely go over 60 now, due to the cost of fuel.

Being a frequent user of the M6 North, with my running and my lads sport, you`d be lucky to be able to get past 60 anywhere on that motorway, until it`s night time or once you`re past junction 37.

Two and a half hours it took me to get to Fleetwood this morning.

Ffs ?

Got to do a motorway course in Feb for getting flashed doing 60 in a 50 bit of "smart" motorway where the limit changed up and down 3 times within a couple of miles. Must have missed the last speed change sign and genuinely thought it was still 60.

I get there's reasons for varying the limits, but the quantity of changes (and fairly poor signage) in some places is a nightmare.

One thing I've never understood is you can pass your test then instantly go on the motorway, with no guidance, that doesn't seem right, I'd love to know how many motorway incidents are caused by new drivers
I don’t think that’s the case anymore is it mate? Dont all new drivers have to have spend time on the motorway with a qualified instructor prior to doing their test?

O i didn't know that, must be a new thing, or fairly new haha i tried the motorway at night first, saying that i accidently ended up on it taking a wrong turn !!

What are the accident rates on the autobahn where there is no speed limit (unless I'm woefully out if date)?

The speed kills thing amuses me. In Swindon there's a road where the council advertise 17 accidents had happened in the last (however long) 6 were due to speeding. Speed kills.

So actually 11 accidents were from cars going too slowly??
Higher than UK motorways

17 deaths per 10 billion Km in Germany vs 10 deaths per 10 billion Km in UK.

I think the only sections of the m6 you can do 70 on reliable are where you mention and between junction 1-3. That's it. It's a disgrace.
