Do we believe his 120 point plan

  • Binned immediately

The least to blame for anything going on right now, our fans are so funny sometimes, like he's telling Lampard to put Maupay at targetman

Kind of over the director of football model. We suck at it. Walsh, Brands, now Thelwell. Just commit to a manager let him decide who he wants based on the style he wants to play. We were fine before we had the role and we’d be fine without one now.

The problem isn’t solved by sacking a manager or dof.The problem will only be solved when the idiots who appoint the manager/dof get the arse. Sorry to state the bleeding obvious.

The problem with this is we're unlikely to get stability this way. The manager does well and he's getting poached by another club. He does poorly he's sacked. Either way you start over.

We've had a lot of bad come out of short termism from managers. Koeman forcing moves, Allardyce spending on Walcott and Tosun and Carlo with the Doucoure, James, Allan window. You can end up bad places.

….I’m really wary of a football man who talks like a politician. They talk the talk, impressing with what they’re going to do when I want to know what they’ve actually done in the game.

He calls himself a ‘line manager’ but before he was appointed, I’d have asked for his record on signing players and appointing managers.

I’m not convinced by him, but the big impenetrable cloud surrounding football business at EFC means I can’t form a reliable opinion.

Personally, I worry about the total lack of competence of those that employed him - and the lack of a clear sense of accountability they foster.

Essentially, who knows if getting rid of him would help anything?

He’s buying Maupay for a target man system…

And when Lampard is sacked and we are scrambling round for the next month I’m sure you’ll find a way to blame someone else then too.

The condition of the squad is the director of footballs responsibility and it is worse than when he arrived.

I'm continually frustrated on here that the only thing people focus on is transfers when evaluating the performance of a DOF

Have a look at his job description and transfers are just one department who report in to him

We have been worse since we have gone the director of football route, never had one back in Moyes days and we did much better. Would it be better just not to have one, as we haven’t had one yet that looks like it has helped the side.

How do you know that appointing managers has ever been his responsibility? Not commonplace for DOFs in the UK to have responsibility for that, even though it's fairly widespread in Europe
