Silly Season January 2014

did you get this rumour from that god awful transfermarket.com?

Transfermarket is really good if used properly, especially the original German version of the site which has significantly more contributors: http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/geruechtekueche/forum/ansicht_154_seite1.html. Its essentially a site where users gather sources as they show up, the more reputable they are, the higher the % of the transfer happening goes up.

Unfortunately, the English version hasn't really caught on so you never really get to see how its intended to be used. If you click that link provided above you will see its very active and the users generally know what's going on when it comes to transfers. For example, that Milos Jojic to Dortmund rumour was on about 12% earlier today but its shot up throughout the day as more sources have appeared. Low and behold, Dortmund have confirmed the transfer this evening.

It would work very well if more people cared to use it probably instead of just submitting one source all the time.

Man City are closing to signing Fernando from Porto apparently.... I wonder how close we actually came to getting him on deadline day in August.

I put this to you critics of the board

1) Do you hand on heart believe that Kenwright and the board are deliberately pocketing any money that comes into the club for themselves?

and

2) What have you done to report it as I'm pretty sure that that would be illegal to steal from your own club

1) No

2) N/A

They are using it to service the debt. Thought everyone knew this.

Good questions, Steve. Put them in the Board/Kenwright thread. I'd be interested in the answers from the usual suspects. Here it might get swamped out by Silly Season guff, especially as it's the last 2 days of the window.

even tho the debt keeps on rising?

Off topic lads. I would love us to get Konoplanka or whatever his name is, everytime i've seen him he impresses me. Hopefully he doesnt go to the reds. Main priority is a striker or midfield though, adrian lopez would be great along with Nathko

I'm quietly confident that we will bring in a good 10M midfielder on deadline day, I think injuries and derby defeat will force bills hand ;) *taps nose*... (Joking I'm not ITK I will koff now cya)

I'll be amazed if we spend big in the next few day or so, there is sense to the argument that were holding back for the summer when making deals will be easier, but its hard to place faith in that with this board, and if I'm honest I think the money will vanish into other operating costs, with neither debt nor squad being properly sorted out, sincerely hope I'm wrong

1) Yes
2) I rang the Inland Revenue up, they listened to my story and then hung up, any other ideas?

But its not illegal to pay yourself money out of a Club you own, its called share dividends and can easily be hidden away in the accounts so nobody can see, possibly in a sub section called Other Operating Costs.

Why aren't we looking to sign Mitroglou before he goes to Fulham. Looks ideal for the premiership whenever I've seen him. Could be the permanent striker we need
