Sir Landon Of Donovan

We want Donavan - Donovan wants us.

MLS I feel with 1 yr remaining on his contract come dec will do the honorable thing and let him move on knowing they will get him back in 2/3 yrs for a good old American song and dance about a hero returning...

IMO it's nailed on he'll come on a perm in January....

Tim Cahill 1M??? Even if his contribution to us was waining somewhat, strikes me as a you grease my palm..I'll grease yours scenario.

Landon Donovan gets $2.3m per year from the MLS, or £1.4m in proper money. If Donovan signed a £40k per week contract he'd be earning more than the Galaxy pay him by a noticeable margin, discounting all the other benefits like playing in the best league in the world.

I don't know if it would be that much more once you factor in taxes but regardless with his endorsements and the fact it's his last chance to play real football in a real league I would hope money would not be the key factor anyway.

He's like a softcore porn film Donovan.

Just when you think you're gonna see some hot birds foof getting destroyed the camera pans away to a Sandlewood Candle or something, little prick teaser.

If he's coming I'd only want him as a permanent player. If not we should be giving game time to lads who will be here long term.

If they make a contribution that results in us collecting more points than we would have done without them, then what is the problem?

Anyone who would have Mirallas starting ahead of Donovan is insane IMO.

Mirallas has three things going for him a ) he's our player, b ) he's five years younger and c ) he's got the next two months to gain an understanding with the rest of the team.

I like the looks of the guy.

Short term gain. If Mirallas will benefit from games, which he will, then I can't see the point. I'd love Landon to come full-time and if we were really short in Jan then I'd see the sense in another short term deal. But, as things stand I'd rather give Mirallas, Naismith or Ross the game time because that will benefit us long term.

I disagree mate.

We need points on the board THIS SEASON. Sacrificing points now on the possibility that you may or may not achieve a better points total in the future doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I disagree with the premise, if we're doing well this season, you play the best player regardless.

Having said that, I'm not 100% sold that Donovan is the better player at this point.
