Sir Landon Of Donovan

Talking about how he struggles with motivation and he may need to go on holiday for upto a year and how much he misses his family. Weird.

Doesn't look to me like he's desperate to get over here. I hope I'm wrong like.

What warms my cockles more than anything over this, isn't just the possibility of L.D ( not Larry David) coming 'home', but it's the exclusion of Osman and /or Neville, who are in all honesty, going backwards. The second tantalising aspect, is that now Landon is 29 / 30, we may get a year or two out of him on the wing..but once he starts slow down, he would be perfect for us in that Paul Schoales/ Gerrard mode, of just anchoring himself and being that 'creative - eye of a needle pass threader' we've been crying out for. The future looks bright..etc..

He's basically saying there, he's bored. the MLS is no challenge to him anymore. Unlike the mavericks and mercenaries who flood our premiership now with the old " I've always wanted to play here in zee Premiership for a famous team like Southampton Rovers..it has always been ma dream". Knowing full well they'll pay him a ridiculous wedge and he can leave the boring fishing town of Porto ! Donovan, he may be winding down, but he knows , once he steps onto that turf at Goodison, under the floodlights with 38,000 roaring him on..that battery level is gonna go from Empty - Nuclear in 60 seconds. That's the Everton effect. Like any job, every now and then the surroundings become stale, the tedium of day -to- day life sets in..Landon coming to Goodsion, is the equivalence of one us going to Las Vegas for a week..you love it, your awestruck by the sheer enormity of the place and the grandiose larger than life reality of it.. and you swear your gonna come back again , next year and do it all again.Gangnam style !! But you never do. But Landon, he has that option. He can come back and he knows the way the game is played and what is expected and that he can do it. he just needs to be reassured by the likes of Moyes, Neville etc.. That number 9 shirt is waiting for him to re-fill it :)

I hope your right mate.

I don't know how he can be arsed with the MLS having tasted the Prem. it seems that we got him hook line and sinker though the 1st time around.
Glad to say that my kids were part of his 1st matchday experience at Goodison when he was bowled over, must have been strange for him to have kids go visit him in the dressing room and not be kids of players and oil tycoons, having his picture taken in the worlds 1st purpose built football stadium, with the worlds first sporting mascot. Seems the down to earth, homely feel of the club got to him, in total contrast to what you can imagine it will be like in LA with Circus Beckham in town, and lets face it you would imagine it being the other way around really with the MLS still trying to establish the game in the way that it is in Europe.

MLS to Premier league then back to MLS, would be like living off microwavable dinners then getting steak in peppercorn sauce, then back to microwavable dinners.

Good post mate.

One thing it does seem to point to is that he would not want a loan deal. For the past 2 seasons Everton has basically eaten up his offseason. I think it would help his decision knowing that if he came over permanently in January then in May he will be able to take a break and not having to deal with year round football (except for international duty).
