Sir Landon Of Donovan

To the earlier conversation, if there is only one option, we need help at CM without a doubt. I'm not sure that it's one or the other, but CM MUST be addressed in January.

Donovan would be a stellar permenant signing. We would get 4, 5 Distin/Neville style years out of him, he is a complete athlete and I'm certain a lack of pace won't hamper his game, and its not even something we have to worry about for at least 18 months. I'd gave him back in an instant. Love the man.

Also the 'I'd rather have Vellios' shouts just made me laugh.

Can't believe we're actually having an discussion about whether Donovan is a improvement to our team/squad or not. Bring him in if if there's even the slightest possibility of a permanent deal I'd say. I'm confident there are still a fair few years of quality left in his tank. Him and Vadis and it will give us a lot of options for that final push for European football next term.

It's mad. People say he's too old when we signed Distin for £5m when he was 31. Donovan would most likely cost less and would be younger.

Ok so question....

Lets say (and this is highly probable) that Davie M is told he can sign one player in January...would you want it to be Donovan - proven as a direct positive influence in our team - or someone 'unknown' therefore with a higher risk of not aclimatising to the 'Everton' way e.g. that Ofoe lad?

I have to admit I do have a man crush on LD - mainly due to the fact that he doesnt just play well in our side - he does not shy away from publically telling the world that he loves us.

So lads, unknown quantity or LD?

Your look ing at roughly the same money as we spent on Mirallas so tough shout really when you consider Moyes buying abilities. I love Donovan but I would also love another Mirallas.

I wonder how many of the people saying they're not that bothered about him coming back also said they weren't that bothered about Pienaar coming back.

Would be an interesting study.

I think concerns about his age are because many see his pace as his major asset and obviously he's going to slow down as he gets older. He already has lost some pace - he's still speedy, but not what he was at 25 (who is :( )

On the other hand, he's been injured enough this year, its possible he's not really "floored it" during the games I've seen for fear of re-injury so he only looks to have lost pace.

Regardless, I think his reading of the game, passing, setting up others, etc surpass pace as his better attributes now

Yeah.

He wasn't exactly lightning quick this January but he still bossed games.

Not a single one...

I thought Peinaar was untouchable? He can do no wrong and is the only engine on the pitch week in and week out.
I mean his 1 goal and 4 assists this year completely make this team what it is.

/sarcasm. I know Peinaar has intangibles...but i hate that he rarely produces.
