Joy rider: The suspect was behind the wheel of a pink toy car
This is the bizarre moment a suspected credit card thief was pulled over while trundling along in a bright pink child's toy car .
Police officers couldn't believe their eyes when they saw the man they wanted at the wheel of a Power Wheels electric vehicle designed for youngsters aged between five and 10.
A passer-by took this amazing snap of the incident in San Jacinto County, Texas.
A spokesman at the police station said: "Yes, that story is perfectly true. We were just as surprised when the report turned out to be spot on.
"Someone who was passing took the picture and it has caused a lot of amusement."
The Eastex Advocate reported the driver was pulled over while cruising around Shepherd in a pink Cadillac Escalade, though it was clearly not made by General Motors.
It said Deputy Nathan Deweese arrested the driver, David Schumaker but not for his choice of vehicles.
Instead he was arrested on a charge of credit card abuse.
After being dispatched to Shepherd to investigate the incredible sighting, Deweese reportedly found Schumaker driving around the neighbourhood in the pink Power Wheels.
Locals say they had seen Schumaker using the undersized toy car as his personal transportation.
“We have had calls about this guy driving around,” said Lt. David Lawrenz.
Schumaker is alleged to have stolen a credit card from a woman in the area who knows him personally.
“The lady saw him go across the street,” said Lt. Lawrenz. “She got an alert on her phone showing that card was being used."
At the time of his arrest, Schumaker reportedly was looking for a battery for his toy car. The toy car has since gone into another individual’s possession.
“It was released to a family member.
"It wasn’t towed,” said Lt. Lawrenz, jokingly.

Prosthetic leg left behind after night out in Doncaster

stream_img.jpg

A reveller is believed to have been left literally legless after leaving behind a false leg outside a pub in South Yorkshire.
A photo of the lonely prosthetic, posted on Facebook and Twitter, has now gone viral after being shared more than 4,000 times.
The picture shows the false left leg on the pavement, supposedly outside a public house in Doncaster, with one solitary beer in the background.
It was originally uploaded to the Yorkshire's Reyt Good Facebook page which takes a humorous look at Yorkshire life and has since been shared hundreds of times across various social media platforms.
The caption reads: "Anyone missing a leg in Doncaster last night?"
The image has spurned many jokes from commenters; however the Facebook page is populated with other spoofs from across the Northern region and it is not clear when the photo was taken or if the pub is in Doncaster.

Having recently been to Doncaster races for the weekend, I'm surprised that this even raised an eye brow. Doncaster must be one of the only places on the planet that makes Birkenhead look cultured.

Police investigate claims someone is randomly shaving cats in the Cotswolds

"Huge distress": Someone is shaving cats in the Cotswolds
A mystery cat shaver is said to have clipped the fur from around 12 animals in a string of bizarre attacks.
The RSPCA is appealing for information after some cats in the Cotswolds are said to have been attacked up to four times each.
Shavings have happened within a six-mile radius since November and, on each occasion, the pets have had a piece of fur removed, often being left with a bald patch.
A spokesman for the RSPCA warned: “Shaving a cat in this way could cause huge distress to both animal and owner.”
Gloucestershire Police confirmed they had investigated reports of a cat returning home with shaved patches in its fur and carried out enquiries around the local area.
A spokesman said: "An element of animal cruelty could be considered if the cat was injured or distressed. But if the cat keeps coming back home with shaved patches, this would suggest it keeps going back to whoever is doing it by choice.
"It could also be classed as criminal damage as the cat is somebody’s property. Ultimately, if the perpetrator was found, officers are likely to give them words of advice and find out why they are doing this to establish a motive."
