Kirkby decision end of November?

Just picked this up off another forum:

'just got a letter from the planning inspectorate:

"in accordance with schedule 2 to the above act,i am writing to let you know that the sos will issue her decision on or before 27 november 2009"' :o

I'd imagine that means the club's 'schedule' of being up and running for season 2011/12 just went out the window. And what'll the continued uncertainty mean for next summer's transfer window spending?

I think all they are saying there, is wont take any longer than 6 months. The leading experts reckon we will find out before june

The Inspectorate are the experts. 'On or before 27th November' sounds a bit like mid-November at the earliest to me. Bad news for all concerned.

THe original deadline, including the inevitable appeal was slated for August 08. Given that civil servants and due dates rarely coincide, November wouuld seem a fair estimate, but for the fact that it is being fast tracked. We have already been told that the report will be ready by June, so on that basis, November seems a little far fetched, but I am happy to bow to your greater knowledge on this one.

Where and who is the letter from and for?

I've already conceeded we wont buy a Moutinho etc so whoever we get in the summer transfer will be okay by me hahaha.

While I was in Geordie land the weekend I did hear on the local news that a Tesco retail park plan got kicked in the teeth and rejected....

Cases might be similar...who knows.

The letter was sent to people who attended the final day of the inquiry and left their details for the Inspector to inform them of key decisions in the run up to the announcement from Blears. I could give a flying one whether anyone doubts the existence of these letters. It's happened and that's that. No doubt the club and local press will be forced into acknowledging the information in due course. Jeez, you offer some info and get slated for it. Sorry.

And you can forget all this 'early summer announcement' stuff now. That's been overtaken by this announcement. As for 'fast tracked' I'd bet that 17 months for a gargantuan scheme like this to be called in and passed judgement on fits that description.

As I say, I'm not happy with Nvember. No one should be happy with it. It will make this summer's transfer window a nightmare, despite what Elstone says about the two not being linked.

I would have thought that if the scheme were to be pushed through for political ends (being able to announce a shed load of jobs being created) a Summer - or asap - date would be preferred.

To be honest, whether you're for or against the Stadium (and quite frankly even I'm getting bored reading about it everyday - it's becoming Everton's Jade Goody) a late decision does nobody any favours.

If it gets the go ahead, it needs to be as quick as possible to keep the cost down and hopefully see the promised buy out within the transfer window; if it gets canned, it needs to be as quick as possible, so we can move on and hopefully see the still expected buy out within the transfer window.
