Yes there are always alternatives, as long as you remember to stay within the lines and not get distracted by the Play-Doh:

Is this the free stadium you were talking about, Neiler? I'm not too keen on the stadium colour, tbh.

Liverpool Daily Post.co.uk - LDP Business - Business Analysis - Making the case for the NWDA

Ex Peel Holdings man is new chairman of the NWDA with £500M of European Objective 2 money to allocate before the Tories, no doubt, scrap the organisation if they get elected. Things need to move quickly if this Kirkby stadium is knocked back.

I'm not sure how quickly the scrapping of the Regional Development Agancies would be under a new Government. The Conservatives use them as one of the planks in their argument against English Regional Government, so if they scrap them the next Socialist Government may introduce this Regional Government rather than just re-instate the Regional Development Agancies.

These quangos need scrapping, IMO. All money should be concentrated into the hands of elected representatives. If that's local authorities or an elected assembly for the region then that's a step forward. But any port in a storm in the short term. If that lot can swing x millions Everton's way before being replaced or morphed into some Tory poodle then all well and good.

There's just too many layers of government to my mind - & we're paying for them all!

That has always been the case dennis and will remain so unfortunately, politicians look after politicians no matter which party they belong to.

If this new plan gets the go ahead it must also have a spin off by means of future investment in our club. Once we have something settled, especially if this new stadia in built gratis, we become a far more attractive proposition than almost every other club on the market. Many of you argue that Phillip Green owns EFC, some say Earl, most agree that Billy is no more than a figure head...................in any case they are all businessmen and will sell if the price is right.............with a near free stadium on the cards we become the new Citeh, it was their Eastlands ground, built with taxpayers money that made them such an attractive proposition and of course KEIOC will become defunct overnight

"We dont need a new ground, we don't fill it now....."

Someone go and try and book tickets tomorrow, according to the official eticketing there are only a few 'limited obstructed' views left, meaning no booking from me.

I don't think anyone would argue that something needs doing. It just needs to be a better answer than what is currently on the table (bearing in mind this current move has lasted 117 years so far).

DK is a short term answer to a long term question - and quite frankly, it's not even a good short term answer

Appreciate that view, though many do, and have in this thread argued that we don't need an increased capacity or indeed that obstructed views prevent people from attending.

but we both know they're just plain wrong :)

if going by my last post our next home is to last us for another 120 years, it has to be capable of meeting all of our future successes, not just catering for the mediocrity we've had since the old lady went all seater.

If the club is ever successful again (as it will surely be) we need a home that can accommodate that success. Better facilities, greater capacity, scope for expansion and accessible ;)

We don't (and this is probably where we differ) necessarily need a new Stadium right now, but we do need something done over the next half/dozen years or so (either a move or an upgrade)
