Suarez's Punishment

have you guys seen logano's comments, literally wtf

''You need to show me the incident, because I didn't see anything. Did you see it today or did you see what happened in other years? You couldn't have seen it today because nothing happened. Chiellini’s attitude is worst of all. He's a great player, with an enormous status. It doesn't correspond with Italian football. As sportsmen leaving the field, crying and appealing against a rival. As a man, he disappointed me totally.'

this combined with the managers comments and the Uruguayan press... is their entire country made up of really thick snides or something ?

It's like someone printed out a selection of RAWK posts and gave them to the Uruguayan squad for the post-match interviews. From what I can gather, they genuinely don't care how stupid they look. They're doing everything they can to keep Saurez in the squad because its as close to a one man team as you will find in the last 16.

Fifa statement (I know it's a bit technical!);

http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/y...dings-opened-against-luis-suarez-2384766.html

FIFA. can confirm that disciplinary proceedings have been opened against the player Luis Suarez of Uruguay following an apparent breach of art. 48 and/or art. 57 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code during the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ match Italy-Uruguay played on 24 June 2014. The player and/or the Uruguayan FA are invited to provide with their position and any documentary evidence they deem relevant until 25 June 2014, 5pm, Brasilia time.

According to art. 77 lit. a of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (FDC), the FIFA Disciplinary Committee is responsible for sanctioning serious infringements which have escaped the match officials’ attention. Furthermore, according to art. 96 of the FDC, any type of proof may be produced (par. 1), in particular are admissible, reports from referees, declarations from the parties and witnesses, material evidence, audio or video recordings (par. 3).

No matter what punishment FIFA hand out shouldn't Liverpool make some sort of statement of intent. Shouldn't they come out and say they won't play Luis Suarez until he's mentally ready to participate in a game of football without the intention of injuring fellow professionals?

Given how unequivocal they've been in their support of him through all of his disciplinary issues, I'd be amazed if that happened.

Again, if he wasn't any good Liverpool and Uruguay would hang him out to dry.

So I guess that means that being a good footballer excuses being an awful human being. Anyone defending Suarez is essentially worming their way around that fact.

It's not exclusive to football and Suarez, we all brush over the fact that Jimmy Page was a bit of a paedo because he's that good on the guitar.

Some deluded kopites out there. Just read the following comment on the echo site:

"Who is RIGHT to judge Suarez is guilty even before it is REALLY proven that he has done wrong?!! Too many people out there just wanted him out, just because he has done well at the World Cup... it is just sick. I believe only DNA left at the bite, can only discover the guilty party. End of story."

*Shakes head in disbelief*

NO

If he had to look at videorecordings of the incident before saying that he didn't do anything he is guilty. If someone accused me of doing something that I knew that I hadn't done, I wouldn't need to check a video before saying I was innocent, only a guilty person would do that to see if someone else could see what he had done.

If he is found guilty then ban him from international football for life and I hope the English FA will warn him that if he does something like this again in a game for his club he would be given a severe banishment, not just 10-20 games. A season at least.

To be fair, the implication that he has mental health issues are because he tends to do these things when there's absolutely no reason to. Yes, it was somewhat of a pressure game, but in this instance he's cost his whole country any chance of progression in the tournament really and potentially murdered off a money spinning move for himself to the worlds' biggest clubs and utterly goosed his own club who have supported him to the hilt in the process.

So what he's doing isn't "cheating" by traditional means; instead, it's self-destructive, nonsensical behaviour that is, basically, psychopathic.
Cobblers. He's just a short-tempered cheat.

If he was truly psychopathic, then these incidents would happen more often, and they wouldn't miraculously only ever happen when he was playing football. Nor would he wait until he thought the ref wasn't looking, or feign injury to try to get away with it. Does he slap his missus? No. Does he beat his kids? No. Does he randomly shove Anfield staff around, or lash out at reporters, or whack people with his trolley when he nips down to Asda? No.

Stop making excuses for him. He's a snide, cynical violent cheat who has simply become more bold because the previous punishments have been hilariously weak. Duncan Ferguson got JAIL TIME for less than Suarez has done.

Ha ha Sky now reporting 888 Poker are reviewing their sponsorship relationship with Suarez. And so it begins...
