Our defensive options.

Browning and Galloway – they have no future here and need binning.

Pennington – he is championship level at best. He needs to be sold.

Willliams – awful player and a poor excuse for a professional. Do whatever it takes to get rid

Jags – a good servant to the club but too old to be relied upon now and fact we still have to rely on him shows how poorly thought out the majority of our transfer activity has been since Moyes left.

Baines – Another great player but again too old now. We should have been looking for his long term replacement 2 years ago.

Holgate – full of potential but needs coaching. Should have played more last season.

Coleman – Make this man Captain!!

Keane – Maybe there is a player in there and maybe we just need to find him the right CB partner but all I’ve seen is mistake after mistake. Plenty of great defenders have lacked pace but they make up for it by reading the game, knowing where to be. He has zero pace, mobility and he doesn’t appear to have a clue where to position himself unless Jags is basically holding his hand. A 30m dud!

That’s 9 defensive players and I would say only 1 of them is fit for purpose and good enough to be in the starting 11.

Agree with every word of that, only one I might keep is Galloway as a punt, I know he hasn't shown anything for a while, but when he first came in he looked to have something about him, new coach new start might be worth giving 12 months to see if he can get going again, if not bin with the rest of them

..not sure about him being a poacher. He scored 1 goal in 18 appearances last season. Poachers get in goal scoring positions and poachers finish half chances. I don’t see Sandro being a poacher.

I honestly think he’d be more effective as a RB.

Couldn’t agree more mate. I don’t know how he scored the goals he did in Spain. I very much doubt he’ll be here end of August. Doesn’t offer us anything with regard to being a goal scoring threat.

Besic was awful last night, lads.

I mean, they were all bad, but he shouldn't be anywhere near the squad.

None of those that started yesterday (and for now I'm including Gylfi, unless he's fully fit by then) should start against Wolves on the 11th.

That was his real chance last night to make Silva think about him as a starter...he blew it.

You sell them mate, Klassen is being moved on, same with Mori, both looked terrible, both still able to be shifted.

Bolasie, Schneiderlin, Williams, Besic etc all have that fabled prem league experience and there's numerous clubs as stupid as we are buying players around

Id feel alot more comfortable if we were closer to the 10 outs.

The longer it drags on amd our window closes to buy players, foreign sides know we dont want them in our squad and will low ball us.

Im hoping we see alot of signings and sales over the next week...then drama on the last couple of days in the window.

2 games left to integrate new players and get some form of pre season behind them. Really need to get the defence and midfield sorted sharpish if we are going to hit the ground running at the start of the season.

The defense is diabolical.

How Jagielka is STILL a mainstay centre half at the club is insane. 10 years ago he had developed into one of the best in the country along side another mobile unit in Lescott. Baines had established himself as a quality LB too that season.

When Stones was sold that money had to be invested in 2 or 3 quality centre halves of a good age. We got a past it Williams in.

Keane has been a disaster sadly so we are left with just the promising Holgate.

Have to get these 2 Barcelona lads in asap. If these fail to materialize and there is no backup plan then we are in big trouble.

Could do with upgrading the DM position too :/

I'd also like a public apology from Walsh and Koeman for screwing Everton up for the next 5 years.

Failing that, I'd settle for them being put in the stocks outside Goodison and pelted with matchday programmes from last season.

He's been shoved on the wing though so he isn't going to get in regular scoring positions.

Tosun has wasted many more chances than Sandro pre-season. Again, not saying I would have him in the team as I would have him sold to whoever will take him, but dont think the best of him will be out on the right. Think he would get a fair amount as striker with someone up with him.
