Should of went and bought Jonny Evans at the start of Summer for mere pennies. Wouldn't have been such a frantic rush, which will inevitably lead to us paying over the odds for Mina.

He's played literally 5 times in Europe and we're prepared to splash about £25m+ on him. Crazy.

Plus his signing fee
Plus his agent fee
Plus his wages

All supposed to be high

Oh and hes got no pace.

To be honest we don't really need a box to box as such but a pivot in the team. With the wide options we have we don't necessarily need a midfielder who will push up by themselves but someone who links the defence and attack up. I would hope there is more reliance on pace this season and moving the ball quicker to the other end so a cheaper modric type player would be ideal . Just someone who can release the front 3 quickly would make a huge difference.

The attack option is a little different. We need options not replacement for tosun. Niasse is the fast unpredictable super sub to get something out of nothing and lewen i still don't feel is good enough so it leaves us needing a pacey striker who can match tosun for goal return. Onikerwu ironically being the perfect type.

If it’s 433 then gana and siggy in midfield with someone else who drives the ball forward but can also pick a pass and even score is what we need.

Tosun dcl and niasse are good options but one more to rival them with some pace would really help I think. Lookman, rico and Sandro can all play that role but I think we need more quality

So when he falls spectacularly off a cliff after about a season we can chuck him in with Jags, Williams and Baines?

I would have gone for Evans too to partner another new centre back as we needed a bit of his leadership, but as people have said, all the agent fees and signing on fees because of his release clause would have meant he'd have probaly been nearer £15m than £2m.

Wouldn't have been a terrible deal seeing as Williams and jags will have been gone by next Summer e and we'd be left with no experience at centre back.
 

Reading between the lines of seems we've agreed the Digne deal for around 18m but want to do Mina as part of it for around 30m. Seems his side are waiting to see if an offer comes in from Utd. That will only happen if they don't sign either Maguire or Alderwield. Regardless the Digne deal will be done.

I don't think we can wait around until a Utd deal for either of their targets is done and set the ball in motion on Mina. Would expect we will move on ad a starting CB is a must this window.
