Summer 2018 Transfer Window

If Rojo arrives, that’s a LM, LB and CB brought in. Are they not three of the positions we all wanted addressing this summer? Maybe Brands should have just gone and bought a load more number 10s and not sold anyone then he’d probably be revered on here.
So if we'd gone out and signed some lower league journeymen for those positions we should all have been happy because those are the positions we wanted addressing?

So folks cannot understand our transfer policy based on press speculation about what we might be doing, according to some ITK Twitter source of origin. Good grief.

No instead we’re targeting players from Barca and United but people seem unhappy. I genuinely don’t know what profile of signing would get approval. Can’t be too old, cant be a teenager, can’t be too expensive, can’t be a big club cast off, can’t come from a lower prem side, basically unless they’re between 21-25 and completely unknown from some continental team but the football kanagwrnlr approve then the club will be criticised for the signing. It’s baffling.

Richarlison is better than Bolasie, Digne will be a better option than 33 year old Baines, Rojo would be better than any of our centrebacks. These are good signings in positions that needed addressing, why is there so much negativity?

to be fair, I'd say we only didn't need a GK, RB & RW, every other position in the squad we could do with an upgrade

I think the two players signed so far massively upgrade us, but our achilles heel is our CBs and we 2 desperately otherwise it won't matter who we bought because we'll just keep conceding

That makes absolutely ZERO sense. It’s not the positions that are being filled, most would agree it’s the right areas that are being looked at.

It’s blatantly the personnel for those positions which I’m sure you’re fully aware of.

Obviously not as they are lower league journeyman. Some people are just being obtuse for the sake of being obtuse.
It's not obtuse, it's simply taking the point to its natural conclusion. The inference is that we should all be happy because the positions we wanted filling have been filled, ignoring the fact that people's concerns would be with the quality of the player of not the position they play. I'm just pointing out what should be obvious - that at some point you would think the quality of player was not good enough - in order to make you see what other people may be feeling at the moment.

Obviously none of us are managers or directors of football, but people come on here to give their opinions about Everton and our players. To me, the suggestion that people should just be happy because we signed someone is fundamentally flawed, but there you go.

Paul Joyce isn’t some random “ITK twitter source”.

If he’s saying Rojo is our back up to Mina, then Rojo is our back up to Mina.

Is there a lot of negativity about Digne? I honestly haven't seen it. I've seen people say they'd prefer Tierney, but not really anyone saying Digne would not be a good signing in his own right.

Personally i'm happy enough with Richarlison and Digne in theory (with the obvious caveat that i'm putting trust in the management's ability to know more about them than I do). I've seen very little of Mina but again I'm willing to believe that he'd be good. Rojo is different though, because I've seen him play a lot and not been very impressed. I can't pretend that I'd be happy at the thought of him being brought in as the saviour of our defence because I don't think he's good enough. Is he good enough to be part of our squad? Of course, he'd be an excellent addition. Good enough to be the man tasked with making that defensive unit a cohesive, watertight one? Not for me.

The fact he plays for United is irrelevant, Neville, Schneiderlin, Gibson, Rooney, Howard all did and none of them have come in and been superb for us. The idea that we should all just be happy at the signing of any centre half because we need one is ridiculous. You're clearly an intelligent person, you know that, so the post just seems deliberately antagonistic.
