Its a small sample size agreed but i also think he is the exact same at United, Argentina defense was particularly poor, wrong decisions on whether to stick or twist, poor unit play, poor positioning and impetuous with poor discipline. Sums Rojo up for me. There is also zero difference between him and Mori, in fact i think Mori has more about him. Rojo is all effort and minimum quality, thats fine if you want a squad player but not at 30 mill and 120k a week. He is far from a Marquee center half. I wouldn't honestly prefer Scott Dann or James Tomkins and i wouldn't want either of them.

I agree he's identical to mori in that sense

but if I was to say something, I think 30mill is nonsense, think it would be about 15mill, if it's anything more then it's a walsh signing all over again

he is better than the 3 donkeys we have at the moment, but that literally takes no doing because they are terrible

would be a weird signing,

It’s not ideal but as you say our pre season performances of centre half’s has been as bad as anyone could imagine.

I also think signing Rojo has the potential to help us with the Mina deal. I don’t buy United want him & Mourinho supposedly has been told he needs to sell before he gets alderweild or Maguire.

Perhaps it expedites either of these deals albeit alderweild appear very complex as spurs are rumoured to want martial, maybe brands is rolling the dice

It could well be that complex mate, though I'm not so sure. I think we may have asked a question but the interest seems to be being pushed at the United end. Its not to say something couldn't emerge, but I find it hard to believe at the figures being quoted in the media.

If we were to sign a Centre back (and Rojo could be one) then I think it takes the pressure off on Mina a little. There is an issue with lack of height with Rojo/Holgate but we may have the option of playing them either side of Jagielka.

Definately have the leverage, hopefully we go down the loan to buy route (if we do go for him) and only purchase if he does well. £13m as little as it seems in this day and age is more than we got for Mori plus his wages are steep. Perhaps Kevin Costner FC can put us out of our misery.

The issue will be wages though mate, I think Mori was on around 45k p/w. Hard to say us getting Rojo for less than double that.

In the abstract a deal for him around 13 million could be a good buy. However my point is why Bring Silva/Brands in and start a new strategy to do that? We might as well have kept Allardyce (who'd have likely brought us in the likes of Jones, Wilshire, Shaqiri, Toure etc) on reasonable money and been ok at moulding them into a decent outfit. It just doesn't seem to fit for me.

Sky are reporting that ourselves and Leicester are in for Spanish forward Paco Alcacer who has had a reasonable goal to game ratio at Valencia and Barca.

However, it's most robably another example of lazy journalism where we're linked with another Barcelona player simply because that's where we've been looking.

..I think there’s been previous links to Alcacer, Phil.

We were linked with him last week, sky late to the party
