Entire midfield is the biggest gap moreso than striker I think (just cos its a bigger component of the team). Our first choice midfield three is now literally worse than two of the promoted teams

I don't agree on this at all mate. Yes, Wolves and Fulham have improved their midfields and I particularly like Seri who reminds me very much of Gana. But once the new players settle, depending on who we are playing I fully expect our midfield 3 to be any 3 out of Gana, Siggy, Gomes and Bernard. That has to be by far the best midfield outside of the top 6.

Bernard is a winger.

Bernard was a number 10 converted to a winger by Fonseca. There's a video of his best bits playing for brazil on youtube which I fully recommend watching. He wasn't a winger.

Bernard has said that he came to us because of his conversations with Silva and his confidence that he could develop him further as a player. I wouldnlt be surprised if he told him he intends playing him more centrally.

Neither one is going to be using physicality but I think he'd be fine in the 10 with his pace and ball skills.

David Silva, Juan Mata, and Eden Hazard all disagree. While they have a couple of inches on him, they are all short, and perhaps most importantly weight about the same but less compact.

Hes basically the height of Pedro, Lanzini, Lennon types.
