He'd be our best midfielder since Arteta. Sign him up, Marcel.

We'll end up signing 4-5 players for the first team max I reckon.

On the surface looks like we need two cbs for example, reality is if we sign the right left back and one cb, then the need for another cb cb s as we should be signing ones that help cover it compliment the players around them, same with a cm,

Gut instinct would say Lozano, Carvalho, Ismaily and maybe Lascelles. Then maybe a loan for a striker or creative mid like Silva at Milan, Gomes at Barca, Hernandez at west ham etc.

Throw the for I said unto the team right now, we'd end up with something like this.

Pickford
Coleman - Holgate/Keane - Lascelles - Ismaily
Gueye - Carvalho
Walcott - Sigurdsson - Lozano
Tosun

Comfortably the seventh best side by a mile and one finally with a load of balance.

It's got Keane in and is therefore rubbish.

...and here’s what the transfer rumour columns are saying about Everton this Tuesday morning;

- According to the Northern Echo, Everton have leapfrogged Chelsea in the battle to sign Newcastle skipper, Jamaal Lascelles, and are prepared to pay £30m for the 24 year old Centre Back.

- The Times is reporting Everton and DC United have reached a deal for the transfer of Wayne Rooney. It is now down to Rooney to agree terms with the MLS side.

- AS suggest Everton are considering a £25m move for Barcelona’s unsettled midfielder, Andre Gomes. The 24 year old Portuguese international moved to Barcelona from Valencia in 2016 but has struggled to deal with the weight of expectation at the Camp Nou.

- 4th Official pick up on Besiktas links with Everton midfielder, Davy Klaassen. Apparently the Turkish giants want the player on an initial 12 months loan.

- Dutch outlet, AD, suggest Everton are tracking Sporting Clube de Portugal striker, Bas Dost.

- Spanish media outlet, Mundo Deportivo, say Real Sociedad striker, Willian Jose, is attracting attention from Everton. The 26 year old scored 20 goals in 40 appearances for Sociedad last season. It is claimed the Toffees are prepared to meet the Brazilians £52.7m release clause.

- SportWitness website suggest William Carvalho is considering cancelling his contract with Sporting Lisbon due to the attacks at Alcochete last month (Sporting players attacked at their training ground). If successful that would leave the player available on a free transfer with Everton looking the most likely destination.

- Reports continue to link Everton with 29 year old Celta Vigo midfielder, Daniel Wass. The Danish international was one of the stand-out performers in Spain last season and, with a year left on his contract, could be available for £5m.

Lots of rumours we are willing to spend big again. Mosh backing marcel and Marco. Don’t much about any of them but lascelles. I live in Newcastle and he is by far their best player.

the ironic thing is under Silva he'd probably thrive. Shame he's got benches to warm in West London lol

I find it amusing when people try to cling on to the hope barkley will make it . It was always other people's fault he didn't progress as hoped and he always seems that he would be a star in various hypothetical situations

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is in advanced negotiations with another top Premier League club.

Press Association Sport is reporting that the Belgium international is edging towards leaving Old Trafford following strong interest from a rival team.

The 30-year-old is out of contract at the end of the month and will be able to walk away for nothing.

United boss Jose Mourinho has stressed for much of the last year that he is keen to keep Fellaini at the club - but he started just two league games since the turn of the year.

Heard it’s Arsenal who are in for him, personally like the lad but he wouldn’t fit what I understand to be the energetic midfield we are looking to build.

..I think this window will be more about quality than quantity. Much depends on how many are moved out. We need mobility and athleticism in the back four and Lascelles looks to have that.

Gomes would very much be a West Ham like signing. On paper, a great name and you think a great coup but the reality of it is: his attitude will probably stink and he’ll turn and run at the first sign of danger.
Don't think there's something wrong with his attitude. He's under a big pressure due to Barcelona's latest transfer policy (and failings) and he's the fans scapegoat.

Mind you Overmars, Petit, Mendieta, Quaresma all didn't live up to expectations at Camp Nou. Same with Cassano, Kaka, Anelka at Madrid.

Liking the links to strikers although I think I'd prefer a pacey striker. But we should be really snide and getting bas dost and carvalho to cancel their contracts. Especially bas dost after the injuries he'd suffered as a result. Offer them bigger wages to do it.

5 signings

One player to block opposition blammos
One player to create the blammos and sometimes also score them
Three players to score the blammos
Three cheers for the ‘Blammo’ preservation society! I further propose the preservation of the words ‘Coggy’ and ‘Yocker’

Player from the Spanish league? Off the back off a great season? For 5m? Sounds like a no brainer , what could go wrong ?

"I believe [we can achieve our goals] because we will have big support from the owner and the Chairman to give us the conditions to be more competitive, to make Everton competitive in all the matches and get the results our club and fans deserve."

Sounds like we've got a fair bit of money to spend again. Hopefully this time we get it right.

Most important thing is that the 3-4 additions that we'll likely make are all first-team ready, and players who will improve us and fit into the system.

The other priority is stripping this squad down. Need 9-10 outs at least.

You serious Fulham have the likes of sessegnon and wolves

His been injured last season, that's it, his not crocked.
He wouldn't cost 40m, I think around 20m would do it.
I'm not talking about carvalho,
If he has a good world cup for England his worth considering imo.
He is a relatively cheap alternative for a link between midfield and attack.

Liverpool would not sell Lallana (who Klopp loves) to Everton for £20m. In fact, they wouldn't sell him to Everton full stop.

He also wouldn't want to come.

So, file under never happening.
