Supposedly (according to Sean Lunt and Sky Sports (I know...)) we're 'preparing' a bid for Maddison.
Got to mull it over first before we prepare it mate. After that we need to consider eyeing up a move. It's a six-step process:

  1. Mull over
  2. Consider a move
  3. Discuss internally a potential move
  4. Prepare a bid
  5. Ready a bid
  6. Finalise a bid
Step 7 is realising Spurs have already had a bid accepted and the player has signed a contract with them.

You omitted the new step 3a which is to get Brands and Silva to agree on the bid and the old step 5a which is to have Blue Bill go back to step 2 and start again.

Each step takes a full week.

Not signing any players before the world cup would indicate it's going to be bargain basement time.
Essentially back to the transfer scenario that Moyes had to deal with until the balance sheet is normal again.

That in itself is vwry concerning.

Even taking Lookman and Keanes credentials for RCB and LM into consideration Brands and Silva surely must see LCB and LB are vital areas that need strengthening.

As each day passes by im less amd less confident that the club will do anything of note this window.

It is the 11th June, window has been open for 11 days and the manager and DOF have been together for the same period of time. How the hell are you twisting that into "we won't do anything of note.."?

Or.................we are approaching it with caution after lat years mess and not just buying anyone that becomes available

It could be a whole bunch of things
  • Clubs are very reluctant to sell players after before a world cup, a player can play well and add 10m onto his value (Lozano for example, there would be no point in selling him before as if he performs well he could alert other teams or make us up our bid due to furthar interest), wanting to keep good relationships with teams we may have to accept that
  • Alot of national teams ban any sort of transfer activity in the weeks leading to a world cup, they dont want players to be sidetracked or distracted trying to sort there future out (this could be Carvalho's case)
  • We dont want to make the same mistakes as last year and we are looking to be a lot more careful on who we recruit as apposed to signing 4 no.10s and not thinking were they will play
  • The management team are currently looking at data and videos of our younger players to see wether any of them are capible of filling gaps for positions that are required (e.g can robinson be back up for baines -we wont need a left back, can dowell be back up for gylfi, even to a case of can we sell Niasse and make 12m and Hornby could be the 3rd choice CF)
  • No one wants to sign for us
  • We are skint
Basically it could be anything, how many signings have been made? A handfull?
