Some thinkings:

  • A really excellent spread of weaseling this week. Clearly with the good recent weather and fertile ground of Everton not doing the signings, we are seeing many good examples of the species making their first moves of the summer
  • Remarkably (having essentially rigged it) @Raino85 has been surpassed as the top Weasel.
  • The window is now technically open - well, it might be, I don't actually know - I would expect there to be a good surge this week

As ever, I would like to thank the excellent Weasel Hunters for their work. This isn't Tory Fox Hunting, this is humane, controlled tracking and we are all better for it.

Who cares what they do and neither are anywhere close to being complete.

I am excited about the young mixed with some experience team we are building.

Max broughton from Bolton is a new one today.

That's the thing, people say money talks and to an extent it does but people who say CL football isn't everything for the best players are kidding themselves! And Liverpool look to have both. And look at Liverpool, last season they were in same boat as us, they had the Europa league and were no way offering £50m plus and £200K a week wages to players like they are now that their in the CL! They were signing cheap German GK's, a Pair of crap CB's from the Bundesliga and signing the best players from clubs lower down in the league that the top clubs didn't want or want to take a chance on (Wijnaldum & Mane)!

And that's what we're gonna have to do to try and put together a good, competitive team, go for players like Pickford, Keane & Sigurdsson for example, players that are the best at their clubs and would improve us but the top teams aren't certain of and take a miss on them.

And hopefully we can find some gems on the continent that we can bring in and unearth?! But that's how we're gonna have to approach the market this summer to hopefully try and bridge the gap, although with the way the teams above are spending already, it's gonna be tough!....

Juat imagine they go out at the qualifier though and all these players have signed for CL football............ Actually that would only happen to us.

Absolutely right. We're clearly the best outside the top 6 so we need to smartly pick the best players from the clubs below us and hope they step up next season like Mane did for the RS.
