And, although chairman Huw Jenkins last week refused to place a value on the attacking midfielder who he described as “priceless”, it is known Everton would need to go well beyond the £30m mentioned in the latest reports to have any chance of forcing the issue.

Club sources have in indicated there is no suggestion of Sigurdsson becoming unsettled by the speculation that has bubbled since before even the end of last season. Spurs had been considering a move for their former player, though that talk has cooled, with Everton still keen on landing the 50-cap international despite having already brought in Ajax midfieler Davy Klaassen for a £26m fee.

But Swansea are understandably keen on holding on to such an important figure and remain confident they can successfully hold off Everton should they eventually come forward with an offer.

Good, good. Now move onto a real target Walsh.

Only worry with sigurdson is he's already failed when he tried to step up a level at Spurs, and it's okay saying he stands out for Swansea but so did Williams and he's been bang average for us

Williams also stood out in the Euros, it was a risk due to his age and he showed signs of fatigue last season for sure, maybe due to The Euros?

The danger is, the reason he failed at Spurs was he was expected to fit into a side, rather than SLOT into the side, he was out of his comfort zone, as I say, the danger is that the same might happen here, coupled with a hefty transfer fee, theres a real danger he will FLOP, again.

Keita Balde is leaving Lazio as his deal expires next year and he isn't signing a new one. Would be a fantastic addition.
He would, but apparently he rates Juve and Roma. Spurs also said to be interested... all that hurts our cause. However, with Juve after Costa, it could be that Roma go for him which might free up that Berardi fella...

Is he still at Spurs amigo?

It didn't work out - but he didn't fail per say. He was in and out the team and had the likes of Erikson, Alli, Dembele, Lamela et all or in similar attacking positions.

Pochettino himself has admitted selling him was probably a mistake.

Sigurdsson is one of the great set-piece takers in the game right now. He and Klassen are a bit redundant (in terms of passing and finishing), but I think he would pair well with Sandro (and hopefully Lukaku). We will also miss Ross's ability to take the ball downfield, but Sigurdsson would probably help us in the scoring department.
