...after manic Monday, here's a round up of rumours for Tuesday morning;

- The Daily Star reports Olivier Giroud wants to stay at Arsenal despite interest from Everton.

- TalkSport say a return to Everton is inevitable for Manchester United's Wayne Rooney. The Express report that the players wages are a sticking point.

- The Express suggest Everton made enquiries for Alexandre Lucazette before Arsenal took control of the race. The Mail said Everton backed off once they knew Arsenal were keen.

- The Express also report Manchester United will make £7.5m from Michael Keane's move to Everton.

- According to Clubcall website, Antonio Conte has told the Chelsea hierarchy to do whatever it takes to acquire Romelu Lukaku but The Mirror say Diego Costa's demands have put the Lukaku move on hold. Apparently, Costa insists he'll decide when he wants to leave.

- The Express report Everton are now keen on Bournemouth's Josh King.

At last! As always thanks Eggs.

We need one massive marquee signing to top things off.

Similar to utd signing cantona,City signing Robinho, Chelsea signing Zola, Arsenal signing bergkamp. They were all great playmaker that shape the destiny of their clubs and carry their team to the next level. We have non at the moment.

I would rather see us forget about siggy or Giroud and earmark the fund for a special playmaker. That's provided we keep Lukaku at all cost.
Robinho to City puts me off a marqee, he was tosh and also a bit of a diva/troublemaker iirc

Lucas Lima from Santos would be special, he said no deal made with Barca but he might be protecting them as it may have been an early illegal approach, out of contract in December
Hes defo the sort of player we dont have. Wkuld he fit into the premier though. Depends on cost I suppose as to how much of a gamble he is. Looks top drawer though.

Great signings. Delighted with keane as jags is finished and sandro looks like he will be a fans favourite. I still believe we need another 4/5 signings who can start in first 11.

That would mean that we had 8/9 new first teamers!

Who from last year's team are you happy to retain mate ?

Why would we back off just cos Arsenal was interested? If we were interested we would have stayed interested until the player said he wasn't, not because Arsenal stepped in. Hate newspapers bs with their 'Everton should know their place' crap

So we are signing Rooney today?

That's ridiculous. Don't get too carried away with the need for new faces when we still have some good players last season. Some people go crazy this time of year and see some money being spent and greed hits them.

...a few outlets are going with the story. Who knows what has gone on. I do think we have a valuation of a player, if the story is remotely true then we might have jumped ship at the realisation of what Arsenal were prepared to pay.
