@Connor is right, Pickford and Keane would start. One being a hugely talented keeper and 'available' from a relegated side (soon) and the other massively linked and with a year left on his contract. I want us to bring in defenders who have 'pace' and from what I read on here Keane is the quickest in the burnley side. Signing him and with Holgate to his right means that side is sorted and allows us to play a high defensive line as long as we sort the left side out.

Pickford has the best distribution in the league and if we do have a high line he can act as a 'quarterback' (yes I used that word lol ) and we then have the ability to pin teams in their own half.

We have signed DCL, Holgate and Galloway for reasonable fees and 11mil odd for Lookman. If Walsh is serious about hovering up the best young talent then Sessegnon looks to be a potential superstar at left back and I doubt being behind Baines would faze him as hes smashed the championship at 16. Abraham could well be the replacement for Lukaku or at least a very good 'lukaku-lite' player on the bench.

@bluestevon I'd probably take Butland over Pickford and at 6'5 he's 4 inches taller BUT our only hope is to offer huge money for him and hope stoke would sell as they don't want to risk another long term injury...Pickford is the more likely signing I think as hes available.

I think these 4 signings would be good.

1 first choice keeper
1 first choice centre back
1 squad left back
1 squad centre forward

All of them will end up being England internationals I think.

@BrendanGOT I cant speak for others but at the moment we have, Holgate/Davies/Lookman who seem like theyre potential England players as well as Barkley of course. There's a couple of reasons why I like the idea of having England players;

1 -- Improves our standing in the English media + globally to showcase the club
2 -- Players want to play for their country and if we have England players then others will want to join to play with them and get into the England side themselves,
3 -- Similar to 2, young local lads will want to be signed by walsh as they see us giving opportunities to English kids and have a better chance for games than other sides who sign foreign kids...they get to play with England internationals and recognition of their talents to southgate
4 -- We need to have home grown players, better to have the best ones we can get
5 -- Over the years, the best sides usually have a solid core of English players with foreign stars added
6 -- Very good to harvest a club culture and camaraderie with a lot of local players
7 -- Long term, meaning that generally English players will stay at a club longer than foreign players who may want to go abroad/homesick
8-- Strength in numbers so no tapping up on England duty, we would be the ones tapping up other internationals

Also, I think it would be cool to have several England international players in the team. if we signed butland/pickford and keane then add in barkley and potentially davies + one or two others and we would have 4+ lads in there...

Not reading all that Zat but on Sessegnon: I seen him play a few years ago in a Premier League Schools tournament, you could see it then. Lads going to the top, just needs to make the right move.

I'm not reading that lad.

But Pickford won't, he's not good enough. Don't give a rat [Poor language removed] about his distribution you're not Pep. His positional sense has been woeful for some of the goals hes conceded. Stepping up to a big club, pushing for CL hahaha not a chance, maybe in 3-4 years

Apparently we are more interested in his brother steven, I know @catcherintherye mentioned it on here...I guess you saw him as well.

You'd have to hope were the club he chooses.

Ryan got 6 in one game, Steven got 2 in the same one. Electric stuff. Fair enough they were 11 but it was there to be seen.

Programme as proof (before anyone starts):

C9DjXT9XYAQNY9C.jpg

Realistic signings
Pickford (Sunderland)
Keane (Burnley)
Maguire (Hull city)
Luke Shaw (Man Utd)
Sigurdsson (Swansea)

Dream signings
De Vrij (Lazio)
Manolas (Roma)
Van Dijk (Southampton)
Bertrand (Southampton)
Giroud (Arsenal)
Tielemans (Anderlecht)

3 paragraphs at the top?

He was brilliant at preston (apparently) and then hes easily made the step up to their first team this season + its just another step up...

I said the same about butland many times when he was at Birmingham and sky announced we were signing him until they then changed it to stoke.....these two are class. If we don't get pickford now we never will.

Pickford is not class, not one bit. He's a good shot stopper but as made numerous errors in basic goalkeeping. You want that when we are supposed to be pushing on

Some good points mate. Thanks for answering

Thats what I heard, but who knows. I do wonder if we were looking at them as decent prospects to come into the under 23's like DCL was (and subsequently lads like Hirst and Tosin from City were) and wonder if the progress of Ryan will put one or both of them out of the price bracket. I'm honestly not sure.

At fulham though, if lookman came in for 11mil then we should have decent cash for ryan with steven not in their first team yet,

Abraham has twitchy feet

http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/tammy-abraham-talks-future-love-20381

Pickford
Sessegnon
Keane
Abraham

4 players i'd like in the summer...building an English contingent

I hink Walsh has the right idea on this. You can throw Hirst and Tosin into the potential list as well who we are looking at closely. We may not get all but we will get some. I'd love to see Gibson from Boro as well if he became available at a reasonable price.

You are spot on on Abrahams, he looks like Rom at 19. I would concede on more on price to Chelsea if Batshuaiy and Abrahams were thrown in as part of the deal. I think Koeman could turn them into serious players.

Yes we should. I did see though that Walsh was talking about value for money. I don't know, but I'm not sure they are thinking of hammering the sort of money on 16 year olds as they did Lookman, who came in to the first team squad straight away. We will see though. Me I really like what I saw of Chilwell yesterday and would certainly tempt Leicester (as well as for Gray).

Looking at keepers Norman has preferred in the past, don't see him going for pickford mate, he seems to like massive ones and isn't pickford only like 6 foot?

Must admit butland everry day for me, makes the goal look small, the other day pickford made it look big if that makes sense.

I just worry about Butland and his injury/recovery. It wouldn't be the first time we signed an injury prone lad and he never came right. That being said, Grant has done well for them, Butlands stock is lower and you'd imagine they might be tempted to cash in. Last season he was superb, probably only second to De Gea for me. I'm still a bit keen on one of the German lads, but thats probably unrealistic.

out of the limited times I've seen Keane, Maguire and Gibson, I've got to say I've been impressed with Gibson the most.

Tosin seems like a giant, but only one u19 cap at 19...but supposedly highly rated...bit odd? Has he still not signed the contract on offer?
Hirst and the young kid at forest whose 15 and was linked may be on but why didn't we sign hirst before if we wanted him?

Gibson ive not seen anything of that I can remember...isn't he quite slow? I really want us to have a lot of pace at the back
