Yes we should. I did see though that Walsh was talking about value for money. I don't know, but I'm not sure they are thinking of hammering the sort of money on 16 year olds as they did Lookman, who came in to the first team squad straight away. We will see though. Me I really like what I saw of Chilwell yesterday and would certainly tempt Leicester (as well as for Gray).

For me, Chilwell didn't look very good against barkley and Holgate + rom when he was on the right side...didn't see anything there yesterday. Likewise gray, looked flashy in short bursts but Holgate seemed to have him in his pocket most of the game.

For fulham I wonder if they would take something like 7mil for sessegnon with huge performance rated incentives to take the deal up to 20mil....also hes playing at a higher level than lookman if I'm not wrong + performing very well indeed.

out of the limited times I've seen Keane, Maguire and Gibson, I've got to say I've been impressed with Gibson the most.

I think I agree with you on that as well mate. He's probably the least noticeable at first. He's a bit smaller, but a very good organiser and consistent. The ideal for me is probably moving Mori on, getting Keane & Gibson, with Williams and Jags as back up and Holgate (with possibly Pennington and/or Galloway) as support. A nice blend of experience and youth. Williams and Jagielka have shown this week if you want warriors for tough game they can do that, but can't be relief on each week.

I sense Gibson will go to City though.

I like all of these but should we not be aiming a little higher. All these signings strike me as paying lots of money to stay still.

Lots of people felt that so my judgement is massively out on Chilwell. He just moved like a young Baines did I felt, and thought he coped with Rom ok when Rom ran at him. Looks like he's got a great left foot, which in all honesty I think I do like to see!

I am not sure. It seems a good deal, and if we rate him highly enough I think we'd pay accordingly. I just don't know if they were looking at them in the 2-3 million pound price range as opposed to the upwards of 10 million range. Thats not to say he isn't worth the higher fee, as he's proven himself in the championship, but whether that was our initial intention. We will see.

Tosin seems like a giant, but only one u19 cap at 19...but supposedly highly rated...bit odd? Has he still not signed the contract on offer?
Hirst and the young kid at forest whose 15 and was linked may be on but why didn't we sign hirst before if we wanted him?

Gibson ive not seen anything of that I can remember...isn't he quite slow? I really want us to have a lot of pace at the back

I don't know why he's not been selected more, Pep really likes him. I don't massively trust England youth coaches in all honesty.

Hirst we made a big play for but they wouldn't sell. I think they will try again. No idea on the Forest lad.

As for Gibson, I don't think he's massively quick, not as quick as keen, but does read the game nicely. Boro's record is centrally down to him, and it's a very impressive record. Do you think Koeman wants to defend with a high line?

Rooney apparently seen his arse now. Says we are the only club he wants to play for once he leaves United.


We are going for it big time in the summer. VVD is still the top name on Koemans list.

Have you watched Lemos? He's a superb defender as well as a great ball-player and would cost much less than Gibson. Also the fact he can score free kicks is helpful as no-one in the team currently can do that.

Gibson on the other hand I reckon would be very poor for us. He's brilliant in a team that sits deep like Boro - but that's not what we do.

He should threaten to stay and pick up his £300k p/w for nothing. I dont normally agree with players doing that to get a move but Man U obviously dont want him - think they will be trying to force him to move to China so they can get £££
