Like all leagues then. Standard of defending in PL is appalling in most cases atm. Basically the Bournemouth, Sunderland and Man City type car crash defences against whom Lukaku got a good chunk of his goals remember. Dzeko would be just fine

That will have factored in the loan fee they will have paid.. Cant see this being less than 10m per season.

Plus we all know Gylfi isnt worth 50m.

I think you'll think differently when you see our wage bill next year.

Wage bill has gone up steadily over the past few seasons. It will again this season. There are plenty going off the wage bill too, dont forget.

Spend what comes in and spend £50M on top...we are seeing almost a complete gutting of last season's team upfront and we desperatley need other positions strengthened.

I have to agree with this. Sort of.

Yeah, spending wisely has its' place, but to send a statement you've got to show a willingness to spend to win.

If we just basically spend the Lukaku money this window, even if it makes us stronger as a unit it'd still be perceived as "smart spending" rather than actual ambition.
