Please name 5 players that can perform in all 3 positions at an acceptable level to crack the Top 6 this season :coffee:

That's central midfield btw.

..I agree, that's a big ask. Sometimes versatility means jack of all trades, master of none. I prefer conventional players in conventional positions. Buy quality. It does underline what a job Van den Hauwe did at LB and then CB in the championship winning seasons.

I guess this is maybe a cost saving exercise so they don't need to sign two players? Although with Baines - in my opinion - close to finished, we'll need both positions anyway soon.

Come on Zat

He's a promising talent, but "of that ilk"? Really?

We don't have a player like that, currently. We've had very few of them. After Kanchelskis, the last one was probably Rooney the 1st time around.

'of that ilk' is that wrong?

You don't think he plays In a similarly exciting manner?

Yesterday he said he could play for Real Madrid and today hes comparing him to Kanchelskis, I like Mola, hes got very good potential, but hes not currently half as good as Zatmania is chatting.

I never said he could play for Real. I said I could see him on their books based on the world cup.
I also never said he was a top class player...I said he was a player in the same 'ilk' as Kancho

Why twist the words?

He is exciting but "of that ilk" tends to infer that you're putting him on par with Kanchelskis, and he isn't. Nowhere near. Even if you mean just for excitement levels, Lookman might dribble with the ball a bit but he tends to lose it more often than not. Other than his debut goal, I don't think Lookman has got me out of my seat yet. Kanchelskis used to do this a few times every game

Want one utility player at the back instead of 2 separate players didn't come initially from the Echo.

Did it come from Koeman?

Koeman said we want a Ross replacement, a Lukaku replacement and a Mori replacement.

Anyway, that Lemina fella from Juve is the 1.

A strong, hard-working, and dynamic right-footed midfielder, with good technique and solid distribution, Lemina is a box-to-box player who is usually deployed in the centre, due to his ability to start attacking plays after winning back possession. Due to his tactical versatility, he is capable of playing in several positions, and has been deployed as a winger, as a full-back, or as a wing-back, on the right flank; during his time with Marseille, he also played as centre-back in a three-man defence on occasion, during the 2014–15 season, under manager Marcelo Bielsa.
