its amazing. Most on here claim Liverpool are [Poor language removed] etc.

How do people not realise...we have lost our 2 best players and replaced with players from below us!
The same applies to Utd mate, they lost their best player (Ibrahimovic) and replaced him with a player from a team below them (Lukaku).
We've replaced Lukaku with Rooney (from a team above us), Sandro and potentially Giroud (also from a team above us).

It's the same every summer. We get excited about our signings, write off the Kopites and presume we will have a better season.

Then the season kicks off and reality sets in.

I don't get why so many of you think we are going to have such a good season? We are losing our 2 best players and not replacing the goals scored by Rom.

I am extremely concerned.
I don't think we will finish above them, they have a very good manger and betttr players than us. Don't forget they spend big money nearly every season, and klopp inherited a £400mil squad.

We have begged and borrowed for 20yrs, it's not going to happen overnight. I hope we challenge for top 4, but as long as we improve and get the closer to the top 4, and go far in the europa league that will do for me.

...according to the Watford Observer, Oumar Niasse is likely to sign for Chris Hughton's Brighton ahead of the new season.

Also, Emre Mor from Borrusia Dortmund being linked with us and the Reds.

You have hit the nail on the head mate. At this moment I don't see the

I think to get the best out of players as well you need them in pre season. So when giroud and sigs didn't happen I think Everton should of moved on

eh? the lost Zlatan who is 35 /36 and replaced him with the 2nd best young striker in the league, whilst we took a washed up CF in return.

...I think you need to explain your turmoil. Don't bottle it up.

Well, on the one hand he's part of a very talented new crop of Turkish youngsters. Thought the Dortmund move, whilst good for development, really hasn't helped him.

As said above he's really selfish too but he'd get Zat's bum off a seat/massage table that's for sure.

But why put forward names of strikers the manager has no intention of signing
If there was 6/7 target man strikers mentions and their merits and faults discussed then great
It's like the VVD thread , why bother it's never going to happen
I'd love it happen but it won't.
As to the Martins and Kenny situation I agree we can and discuss it because both those players are st the club
The same with DCL and possibly Siggy
But why discuss players the club have no intention of signing
Well firstly, unless you've had one of those pints with Koeman that you're fond of mentioning, you've no idea whether we'd be interested in certain players or not have you? I mean, reports have suggested that our back up plan to Sigurdsson is Seri, who is a totally different type of player. Similarly last year we seemingly looked at Mata and Witsel for a long time before plumping for a move for Sissoko, again a totally different player. It seems possible then, that we may have interest in different types of forwards if we can't get our first choice.

Secondly, I don't see any difference in the examples you use. Us talking about these things doesn't change what is going to happen in reality, so why bother giving opinions at all? People aren't 'putting forward' names in the hope that Steve Walsh will log on and go 'YES! Why didn't I think of that!', they're just giving their thoughts on who they'd like to see in the side, same as people are doing with the other topics.

We have a better squad now than we did in May.

It's more balanced.

We were never going to replace Rom's goals with one signing. We've had to go for the approach of getting 3-4 players, as Koeman has outlined.

There's also still over four weeks left ffs.

Claim to be part of the elite, then get in amongst them and prove it.

So that's seven teams fighting for four positions, then there will be three teams classed as failures then mate ? Chelsea, Man City and Man United all had stronger squads than us and have spent and will spend more money than us. Arsenal and possibly Liverpool have stronger squads, hmmmm that doesn't leave Ronald much wriggle room does it.
Top six and get to a final /win a cup, would that do ?
