A source close to Everton scout Carlo Jacomuzzi has suggested that the Merseyside club may be interested in an unnamed Italian wonderkid. Alternatively the ouija board may have spelled zapatabaccagiroud.
Or Long.
So long as it's a wonderkid, hopefully referred to as the next Messi

As time ticks on, a haunting spectre appears in the distance.

As the strikerless weeks pass, as deadline day ominously approaches, his face starts to become clearer.

And that's when.

We see him.

Would people please stop going on about benteke

2 major injuries...no movement...bought for over 30mil and palace don't need to sell.

No chance.

heard an interview with John Salako yesterday, said Benteke has been the only one struggling so far with the change of style in Palace's play due to not being too mobile.

Or at least having a realistic plan for replacing him.

Ours seems to have been to wait far too long to see if we can tempt Giroud, then...hmm, I'm not sure what the plan is next. I wonder if the club are?

Yeah, you're probably right mate. The combined experience of Koeman, Walsh and Moshiri probably had a meeting about a month and a half ago and concluded, "right, we sell Rom and then wait to see if Giroud will come, and if not, well, err.....oh, ummm..."

Hans Christian Anderson you mate.

If we only get a loan last day of the window then serious heads need to roll.

Best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour. Our record of buying big money strikers late in the window isn't great is it. Borrowing players, however, is something we excel at.

Goals wise we were never going to replace him like for like, but at least have a target man sorted as his replacement as that's clearly how he wants us to play. Mental not to do so.

Exactly, and showing the world how desperately we need one makes it even more difficult.

That would be totally unacceptable, should be splurging £50m+ on a top target man.

That's not going to happen. Anyone who thinks it will needs a reality check.

The agent for Duvan Zapata said we'd met Napoli and the player and his reps in Milan and agreed a £20M fee and then Napoli's sporting director moved the goalposts and demanded £30M, so we told them to do one.
Napoli are arseholes to deal with. Didn't they tell us how much they wanted for that defender Koulibaly and then when we bid it they told us he wasn't for sale?
