Summer Transfer Window 2017

Feel like we need to be prepared to lose out to the higher teams who will sweep in and buy players out from under us just to have them on their bench. I'm cautiously optimistic when it comes to names like Kolasinac. Would love to have him but obviously we need good fallback players so we don't go buying basically retired players at the last minute.

Sigurdsson is obviously our biggest target this window and I would be absolutely made up if we get him and ecstatic if we get him and keep Ross. 4-2-2-1 with Ross and Sigurdsson up front, feeding the ball into (Rom or with whomever we replace him) Deadly
Like your thinking but I'd prefer to play with 11 men.
Koeman prefers 4/3/3

He was tosh at Goodison this season and that's the only time I've ever seen him play.
Can't deny right now he isn't even close to being a starter for a top 7 side but he could be a good number two behind a top keeper at a club with a lot of money to throw around.
Be very disappointed if Walsh is even thinking of him

Wouldn't surprise me if Walsh was after him. He's been a bit hit and miss so far imo.

"Gylfi Sigurdsson, in the English Premier League, has scored eight goals this season, creating 62 chances and 11 assists. Gylfi Sigurdsson has completed 661 passes this season with a pass accuracy of 77%, of which 70% were forward passes."

"Barkley, in the English Premier League, has scored four goals this season, creating 76 chances and eight assists. Barkley has completed 1140 passes this season with a pass accuracy of 83%, of which 64% were forward passes."

Now Barkley will have better passing stats as we are doing better than Swansea and will have more of the ball but even for a poor Swansea side Sigurdsson as scored 4 more goals than Barkley and made 3 more goals than Barkley. In a poorer side, Sigurdsson is being more effective in and around the oppositions penalty box.

Here's their all time prem stats - Sigurdsson, 177 games, 41 goals, 32 assists. Barkley, 174 games, 20 goals, 21 assists.

Forget passing stats, what's above interests me and it shows, this season and in general, Sigurdsson is more productive than Barkley. Same amount of games, this season and in general, yet Sigurdsson as more goals and assists...

I don't think so, the penalty was a real show of his level. He has been poor in three of his last four matches now. All from poor decisions and positioning. Yes when a keeper makes a mistake it always shows, but I am sure he is just not good enough for a team with our ambitions. I'm not sure he is even the best keeper we have?

You are right that Heaton isn't brilliant, but solid. I think all the keepers I have mentioned are that way. The brilliant keepers are already taken by top clubs.

One mistake doesn't show a players level. The mistakes in the past four matches are a matter of opinion.

Fact is he has been an ever present in our greatest run of form in years. If we can get a top quality goalie then great, if not though I ust dont see it as a pressing area to worry about. Especially replacing him with equally flawed keepers which most people seem to keep suggesting.

But Barkley and Sigurdsson don't play for the same team so the stats are not really comparable.

Looks like everything goes through Sigurdsson at Swansea (mainly as they don't have other options), that is not the case at Everton where you have others sharing the load.
