Summer Transfer Window 2017

I actually can't believe we haven't signed Hoedt yet, unless they think there is somebody better they can get.. Just can't imagine who.

The Costa shouts are dead weird. As if he'd want to come to Everton, loan or otherwise.
Giroud was at least considering it? Who would have thought Giroud would consider coming here. But from all reports he was. Costa is in the same boat as Giroud, just because he is a snide on field doesn't mean he wouldn't come here. End of the day, he is not wanted and has a world cup coming up with Morata, Aspas, even Alcacar (think that is how you spell it) ahead of him. If we can bid 50m for Siggy, we can bid 50m for Costa who would be a direct replacement for the best player we've had this decade. If he doesn't want to come, we can get laughed at or return with a 60m bed and get laughed at again. Better than not even entertaining the idea. He is one of the PL best strikers next to Lukaku, Kane, Aguero and Sanchez and has not got a club.

Not sure why people think Costa wouldn't come here. If we can pay the wages and show the ambition like we seem to be doing then why not?

As the current deadline day is the same for the top leagues and they all begin within a week of each other, I can imagine other leagues will follow suit and change theirs to match. In effect all business between the major leagues is completed before everyones season begins.

Would be the best case scenario, plus the window wont be as drawn out and long. Lets face it, teams have from the beginning of June.

Up until 2001 (I think, we signed Carsley, Ginola and Linderoth) the transfer "window" was when it was closed for a month from April on, rest of the time it was do whatever you want. Then they changed it to only open in summer and January. Next thing will be only open in June and January. It's becoming more of a Transfer air vent than a window.

Honestly don't see any problem with transfers happening after the games have started, sometimes that's best time to do them. Old players realise they won't be playing so much and want to move, new players aren't adapting quick enough and need helping out, which you will only discover in competitive games, and then there's early season injuries which are unusually common. Having the transfer window open also gives managers a life line to change things round when they are not working, a new signing can lift a whole club, like when we signed Kevin Campbell for instance.

Personally, i would much rather they just revert back to the old system. The only people this current system benefits is Sky Sports News.

Is he actually good though?
I haven't heard from most the players in Europe we get linked with but this bloke is a beast who is playing at a big club. He is what Van Dijk was a few years ago.

This well end down the same path with Southampton or Spurs signing him and him being sold for 50m in a couple of years time. Lets not make the same mistake again because we want "PL proven players".

Why you watching Lazio mate?

Costa was keen to move to china.... meaning money can change his mind... just going to cost a lot that's all... I would rather sign dzeko tho then a CB, siggy, a young DM (dendonker?) and a RB

Exaggerate much?

I like the kid, too, but a backup CB is more important than our future playmaker?
Haha, Hoedt would be back up for 2 games and then first choice with Keane.

Future playmaker?!?!? Sig is good but he is a dead ball specialist who will cost 50m!!! We have Rooney, Klaassen and Davies who can fill a void and in the mean time develop someone like Dowell who could be a future playmaker. Money could be spent on signing what we need most and filling important holes; CB and a striker.

What is worse is Sig would probably need to play on the left to accommodate all our other gun CMs, meaning we would be stuck with the very opposite of a playmaker but the same flop he was at Spurs.
