Summer Transfer Window 2017

This. The only player on there I'd take as a 'Mata' type player is Mata himself. We need to stop thinking about buying players from Lidl, to dine at the top table we need players from Waitrose.

Someone on here actually wanted Antonio from West Ham ffs. We seem to have a massive inferiority complex with regards to players and that mindset needs breaking. Why go for Michael Keane when we could go back in for Koulibally or try for VVD?

If this Iranians got the dough.............

So given our upturn in form what do people now think we need to challenge the top 4?

If we say we are keeping the Gueye and Morgs DM partnership and Davies keeps improving and Barkley becomes more consistent, then our midfield is already complete.

So do we get another CB to partner Williams and Holgate as part of a back 5 or do we buy 2 new CB's that can play as part of a 4. In which case do we need more defensive full backs? And obviously if we lose the width the can we count on just Bolasie to provide the width?

I would be happy to start next season with something like this:

New GK
Coleman Holgate Williams New CB Baines
Gueye Morgs
Davies
Barkley
Lukaku

Hopefully that team is strong enough to match the best, we'll soon see in the run of games we have coming up though.

I guess at some point to really kick on we will have to decide between Schneiderlin and Gueye and also between Barkley and Davies.
1st 3 are top quality. Davies is very exciting potential. Hope we can keep them all. It's a squad game.

I've stated my concerns about Keane a couple of times regarding how I feel Burnley sitting deep suits him to a tee and how he might struggle playing for a side that plays a higher line.

Spoke to a few Burnley fans about this since and they're adamant he'd fit in and be top class in any side in the league (they pretty much feel he'd get in any first 11 apart from Tottenham's). They say much better on the ball than people realise and nowhere near as slow.

From looking at him he seems not too dissimilar to Gary Cahill and he's a very very good centre back.

If this Iranians got the dough.............

Exactly. He's obviously an astute businessman, he knows to be up there with the big boys we need to buy the big boy players. Not Michail chuffing Antonio... if we're talking Antonio's, Antonio Valencia would do nicely.

From the starting XI vs Sunderland all I'd do is replace Funes Mori and maybe Williams and go with that first game of next season. Quality side then.

  • Rooney for back-up striker and no.10. He can tutor and help both Barkley and Lukaku, leadership, raise our profile (new stadium, Rooney & hopefully Europe). £100k a week max wages though! 2 year deal with optional 3rd year. £7-8m
  • Timo Horn for GK - we need a top drawer keeper, not just a decent/reliable keeper like Robles. £15m
  • CB Would prefer Manalos to Keane but I prefer my centre halves to be out and out defenders. With Schneiderlen always coming to collect the ball very deep, we dont need a ball playing centre half. Up to £20m.
  • Back-up right back. No idea who though. Over to you Walsh.

I actually said the same thing about Rooney on an Everton page on fb. I agree, we need a No.10 & a CF come the summer and he covers both bases. Yes he's 31 and isn't the player he used to be but he's gone stale at United and needs a change and what a change we would be for him to get his career up and running again. I think it would work out, IF it makes financial sense all round?!

Timo Horn is a very highly rated young German GK and I wouldn't mind him, and he actually has a release clause at much less than £15m! But I'd prefer Bernd Leno of Leverkusen who is brilliant and he as a £15m release clause that kicks in this summer I believe?!

Manolas would be a great buy and he's a really good player but I'm not sure if he'd fancy a move to us? But Keane would be just as good a buy imo!

I'm not so sure we do need RB cover now? Holgate is more than capable of stepping in and playing there. Connolly is a decent prospect and Jonjo Kenny is a talent and plays RB and either of those 2 could stake a claim in pre season to be back up RB.

Still think we need a more attack minded CM that's creative and chips in with goals and Young Tielemans of Anderlecht as been on fire this season playing in a more advanced role than usual. His assist and goal stats are really impressive, and he's not even 20 yet! Would be perfect for us. As would Sigurdsson imo, he gives you goals and assists from the centre of the park and gives you the added bonus of being deadly from set pieces. Would add another string to our bow in games!

And we need an option or 2 at right wing. We seem covered at left wing with Mirallas, Lookman & Bolasie when fit but down the right we're devoid of any real quality. A lately we've been using Barkley on the right of a front 3 and although he's currently doing a job, it's not his natural position and we need a natural wide player for there or a wide forward that will give us balance and look to link up with Lukaku and chip in with goals. Gabbiadini currently looks a real loss for us as he's more than capable of playing wide right in a front 3. I think in the summer that's why Koeman wanted him, and Lucas Perez, for, to play wide right in a forward 3 in his preferred 4-3-3 formation.

Hopefully we can make Europe and that will make us a more attractive proposition for the better level of players that were gonna need to improve and bulk out the squad so we can cope with all the competitions we will be in. Think it's vital important to our summer recruitment that were in some form of Europe so we can sign better players. Last summer showed that without Europe we couldn't attract a better level of player, although we did sign some decent players in the end!

Anderlecht sporting director Herman Van Holsbeeck has told Everton that they will have to cough up in excess of £15m to recruit midfielder Youri Tielemans.
The Belgian youngster has emerged as the top summer target for Everton with manager Ronald Koeman keen to add more creativity to his squad.

Everton have been scouting the 19-year-old for a while and Van Holsbeeck warns that they will have to pay more than the £15m fee, Leicester City spent on Genk's Wilfried Ndidi last month.

"It will have to be much more than the €17m (£15m) Genk received for Wilfred Ndidi," he told VTM Nieuws.

"I have a sum in my head but I will not say. Everything depends on the clubs to come. I think a transfer must always be a win-win situation.

"For the player, the club that buys and the club that sells. His entourage has always been correct with us, so we will be right with him."

Tielemans is regarded as one of the most promising youngsters in the Belgian league, and his versatility could make him the complete midfield star in years to come.

Despite his tender age of 19, Tielemans has managed 156 appearances for Anderlecht, scoring 28 goals in the process.

Give them £20m plus incentive add ins, he's worth it. Class little player.

Siggurdson doesn't like the defensive side.
