I've watched Spurs since the '50s, they had the greatest double winning side of all time, and we took their mantle 2 years later. Spurs can
boast Greaves, Mackay & Blanchflower, .......... Hoddle, Waddle & Gascoigne, and latterly,........... Modric & Bale.True world class!
Even United would struggle to beat that line up. This Spurs team now this season, were out 4th round League Cup, the F.A. Cup the first
Prem club they played, the Champions League easiest group and finished 3rd, beaten in first game of Europa Cup by Gent (Without an 'H') ,
and runners up to John Terrys boot boys. I do believe the current coincidence that this Spurs team are not a patch on the '61 Double side,
as in Scotland the current Celtic side who have won just about everything, are still not a patch on the Lisbon Lions. If and when Ross leaves
us, I hope that he will go to someone that appreciates him. Ross! you've brought me nothing but JOY. GOOD LUCK MY SON.

Definitely the second best team in the Prem this season though !! Wouldn't even get in at Spurs, IF, he were to go there !

But it shouldn't be the main reason players want to join us

As we've seen from the majority of the squad for the last month or so playing football because you enjoy it isn't really a factor at this level.

Players want

1) To play in the Champions League
2) To win trophies
3) To get paid £££

We struggled last summer because that isn't there and the appeal of a project or the possibility of this and that isn't exactly very appealing.

I wouldn't mind us throwing £50m on Mahrez and Sigurdsson to be quite frank.

Another £20m on a goalkeeper, £30m on two quality centre backs and £25m on a Lukaku replacement.

£125m spent, and we'll recoup way more than that by selling Lukaku and our bunch of castoffs, which include but are not limited to McGeady, Niasse, McCarthy, Deulofeu, Stekelenburg ...

Is it just me that doesn't want Sigurdsson?

Definitely need a player for that role.

Whether he's the right one... I'm not sure.

I wouldn't be against the signing (I'd be very happy with it) but ultimately if we didn't get him I wouldn't be devastated.

If we sell Rom we're going to need more than one player to replace him.

Koeman wants 3-4 strikers (as in, players who can play anyway across the front line) all capable of getting 10-15 goals per-season.

A cautionary note on throwing big wages at players...

Transfer fees are easier to get around for FFP and STCC because you can spread them over the length of the contract

Wages are less so. Every £20k per week is £1 million per year. There is no getting around wages from a FFP perspective, so whilst we have increased capacity to pay better money these days, we still need to be careful about how much we spend as there is only a finite amount we can spend on wages. Moshiri's big pockets make little difference as the amount is based on our revenue - better Sky deal, new sponsors and other commercial deals will make a difference, but we do need to be relatively sensible about it.

No offence but your wrong on nearly everything you've just said there mate

STCC is not effected at all by the SKY deal, it has zero effect and cannot be used for wages
FPP and STCC are completely unrelated

STCC you have left out the massive effect of player trading upon it
You have omitted the yearly increase of 7m allowed under the regulations

Yearly allowable increase, Increase in sponsorship & new sponsorship deals, already agreed player sales (Cleverley), Future almost certain player sales (Deulofueu and others)

We will be able to increase the wages by a very low estimate of 50m this season, a much more probable figure would be around 75m, neither of these factors in a sale of either Ross or Rom orboth.

so minimum of 1m per week, more likley around about 1.5m per week will be well within our limits allowed by the regulations

and that is an increase of that amount, we will also have a huge amount of wages available from players who leave this summer going into that pot

So yeah Moshiri's big pockets will be the limiting factor, we will be able to pay wages for as many players as we can attract/should want, STCC is NOT any form of limit upon us this season, the limiting factor is what the owner decides he is willing to bankroll
