Because Sandro wanting Atletico could drag on and on with them currently serving a ban and waiting to hear if it will be over turned, then if it is their priority seems to be Lacazette so will want that tied up first I think so we shouldnt wait around. We did it with Witsel practically all summer last year for him only to tell us no when we could of moved on to other targets. In end we had to wait till January to get a midfielder in we wanted in Schneiderlin...

that's why i said pursue other targets in the meantime, but if he was seemingly our plan a as our 3rd choice striker then it's no harm in waiting. The window isn't even close to opening yet, bit pointless in giving up on our first targets if their alternative is a team with a transfer ban.

Well going by how City are going about business, and the fact the likes of Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs & Liverpool haven't even got going with their dealings, we're going to struggle to bridge the gap anyway. City are after some very good players, top drawer and if they get the lot their gonna be right up there for the league. Chelsea will spend and now they have the CL will be able to entice players, same goes for Utd. Spurs will chop and change but still be strong and even them lot across the park having better pulling power than us now with CL footy so it's not going to be easy for us.
We are going to be able to sign some good players this summer but the facts are we're going to be fishing in a different talent pool to the teams above us! Fact of the matter is, and it's like Barry Horne said the other day, we could go and spend silly by our standards only to stand still. As daft as it sounds we could easily go and spend £150m on players and still not have enough about us to break into the top 6, even if we bought wisely! That's just the reality of it.
But we were never going to be a quick fix. It's gonna take time, a number of Windows to hopefully transform us into a seriously competitive side within our league and a genuine threat to the top four and beyond.
