Me too, id be pleasantly surprised if we got a fee. Id say he will be getting a healthy signing on fee, to mitigate taking a cut in his wage going there and we're taking the hit on the fee to get him of the wage bill.

Modern football is mad, hes probably a millionaire many times over since he last scored a meaningful goal as a regular.

Free transfer
More likely we'll be wearing a heavy cut of those wages for the next two years Neiler; the lad is insane if he's going to write off two years of a guaranteed salary in excess of £6m per year

He might not be on quite the wages we think he is.

It just goes to show that there are a wide variety of opinions by people in high places on players. Walsh was clearly enamored by Sandro's right foot. He ignored that he was more of a second striker. He clearly missed his poor first touch.

It also tells me that a good D of F can win and win big at Everton. Let's hope Brands is it.

I think Walsh gets a bad press to be honest, i think i he really had an eye for a player and im not wholly disappointed with what he brought in i put more of our signing madness down to Koeman and when you look at some of our transfers they smack of back scathing with some of Koemans old associates. Walsh was mild mannered, Koeman arrogant and stubborn it was a poor relationship and in the end i think everyone got someone including Bill, but with Zero congruence.

I think Walsh's recruitment will yield profit over all, not so Koemans, Walsh was also very good at shifting players out for fees in my opinion and getting rid of dead wood.

Id put Sandro down as Walsh buy though, he got that one wrong, still i wouldn't be surprised if the lad goes on to have a good career elsewhere.

Yeah thats why id be interested in the context of the deal, its why we probably will never know and be undisclosed if its a permo.

That's fair. Walsh is probably a good scout, but not a D of F. We'll never really know how much influence Koeman had on his signings.

Sandro has enough quality with his right foot and works hard enough to have an okay career.

He's still a striker. Not one that's good enough to play in the Premier League, and not one that justifies Everton paying him £120k per week
I don't understand. He was playing left mid. Silva played him left in preseason, too. It's not like he was a pure CF at Malaga, either.

I think he'd be okay as a second striker or left sided mid at a PL relegation team, but La Liga or Serie A are probably better paced leagues for him.

Yeah as a chief scout id say he is very good. I wasnt surprised to see Utd sniffing around him.

It was to big a job for his personality in my opinion, compounded by structural upheaval big personality influences and the only way to find congruence was keeping everyone happy with little strategy in terms of recruitment.
