I think things will heat up starting this weekend. After the Wigan game tomorrow there will be 9 days between friendlies. I reckon during that window things will start to move in a more deliberate fashion, with the inevitable final push happening in the last 24-48 hours of the window.

I am starting to get a bit twitchy too tbh. Not ready to join the bed wetters club yet but definitely twitching. Brands needs to do his magic like super fast. With Gueye's imminent departure and Zouma preferring to take his chance at Chelsea rather than us, we are showing once again that we are still not an attractive enough package to either tempt or keep quality players in the club and as a result we have gone backwards and have a poorer squad than last season and he has got just 17 days left to make our squad better than it was last season which is starting to look more and more like a very tall order.

It is still possible though so do your dolly dealing please Mr Brands.

He's clearly not excellent at scoring, shooting, or passing. He could be yet, of course. Still young. He still gets his head on everything and is disruptive as anyone pressing into the other team's end...but Leao excels at everything he does not. He's 19 and is just a better CF in almost every other area.

I don't think he's excellent at shooting, he's poor. As a whole package though I think he plays an important part in how we are trying to play. He fits the system and will only get better.

I don't think Leao will give us the strength, aerial prowess or ability to occupy defenders Calvert Lewin currently does.
