I think Silva wants him.

It goes back to what ive been saying, Silva wants it now, hes 4 games away from the sack, so whilst maybe Brands would prefer a younger player, Silva wants a player ready to go. Hes 27, hes got a good 4 years left, hes improved every season hes been at Palace.

Thats the logic really.
I don't like that. The main goal of the DOF model is to have the person in charge of bringing players in to be looking longer term since the manager is almost always feeling the pressure to deliver short term. It's why United have done things like sign Sanchez and Matic instead of bringing in players who are at the front end of their prime. Zaha isn't on that level but if Brands is doing things that aren't long term thinking decisions because Marco wants to, we aren't using the system as we should.

His end product is definitely inconsistent but the sheer volume of dribbles, shots and passes he makes have made him above average anyway. The question is going to be what happens if playing for a team with other decent players takes away that volume of touches. It's the same question that has been asked about Hakim Ziyech that is apparently turning clubs off of him just as the best clubs have turned off of Zaha.

I personally like the transfer in a vacuum but not at the price being rumored. But it's hard to really say that it wouldn't improve the XI. The right footed thing doesn't really bother me because he has shown to be comfortable playing wide right just as Richarlison has so having them switch sides depending on opponent and tactics becomes a possibility. It's really just the price that makes this concerning to me.

I spent our pursuit of The Viking telling everybody it wasnt their money.

So suppose I shouldnt use that.

I get it isn't my money. It's the opportunity cost of it. But maybe that isn't even a concern since it feels like when we target someone lately the money always shows up from somewhere.

Dont get me wrong, Brands is down with it, im sure his metrics are off the charts and even his biggest critics, of which I am 1 cant deny what he brings to a team.

Absolute joke TBH

Why are we wasting time with these sort of bids? Spell it out to me Dominic

So there was a real bid then...and me thinking that sky was making things up...
Man City have made an enquiry for Zaha.

Kurt Zouma can still join Everton if we pay 40 million ish. Granovskaia has told Lampard she wants to sell.

Welbeck is still an option.

What I've been told by various people. Not sure how accurate.
City are after oyarzabal from real sociedad as possible alternative to sane if he goes to Bayern...apparently the spanish player has a release clause of 75 millions euros...

If we sign Zaha then that would be him and Delph as 'experienced' heads to come into the team. Thats not a bad thing if we have young players coming in.

At the back perhaps Gibson may get a little time, midfield the enigma (Davies) and then Richarlison, DCL and perhaps Kean.

It does make sense from an experience side.

The mix would be:

30 ish -- Sigurdsson / Coleman / Delph
25+ -- Digne / Keane / Gomes / Zaha / Pickford
U25 -- Mina / Richarlison / DCL (Kean)

So very balanced across the age groups.

For me, it works if we sign Kean and the CB and CM players we go for are in the u25 age bracket.

There won't be any 20 goals scorers with a Zaha. Instead you get similar to last year with Sigurdsson hitting 12-15, same for Richarlison, same for Zaha. Which I would be fine with.
Rather then having one main goal scorer I'd rather them be spread, fully expect with Zaha the goals will spread well.
On his show reel, there was assists he got where he could of tried to score himself, but the team came first.

Has Zaha ever scored more than 10 goals in one season? I highly doubt it. He's too keen on throwing himself onto the floor when he's near to the goal.

I thought Richarlison looked better on the right and Zaha definitely looks best on the left.

They can switch positions and also both can play up top. Im also interested to see Kean in the side as he can also play as a wide forward i think...so all 3 can interchange which poses questions for defenders.

Great on the counter but against sides that sit deep im not so sure...

It works if we add in a couple of u25 players as well...then theres a decent balance in the age groups on the pitch.

I agree with the sentiment but we would need to be hitting 60-70 goals to be in the top 4.

We would need our front 4 to hit 15 each because our midfielders cant hit a barn door and apart from the odd piledriver from Digne and header from Keane/Mina we havent got goals in the side.

Delph and Gomes arent ideal CMs from a goalscoring or assist point of view.

Kean, Zaha, Stones and someone to replace Gueye.

That would be an excellent offseason.

GK: Pickford, Lossl
RB: Coleman, Mirallas
CB: Keane, Mina, Holgate, Stones
LB: Digne, Delph
DM: Schneiderlin, Stones, Unsigned Player
CM: Gomes, Delph
Wingers: Bernard, Zaha, Richarlison,
Strikers: Calvert-Lewin, Kean, Zaha, Sigurdsson (AM/2nd striker)

With Bolasie, Niasse, Tosun and the remaining butterfish moved along.

Boss side that. Better than Spurs, Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea. Front 3 of Richarlison, Kean and Zaha comparable to ye olde Messi, Suarez, Neymar of a coupla years ago. BOOM BZZZZOOOOM BOOM BOOM BZOOM.
