The disrespect for Atalanta from some in this thread is ignorant. They have qualified for Europe six seasons out of 7, have one of the most respected managers in the world in Gasperini, play terrific football and do a good job developing players. They are the anti-Everton: succeeding in the present rather than living in the past.
Sorry m8, but this is The Transfers Thread, in a seriously desperate team. We could just be about to lose our ( Supposed ) main target to another team.

Do you really think people are gonna be kissing there backsides as such a wonderful club.

What you really think of a Club/City/Country goes out the window in a situation like this...

Or that we can put funds better to use elsewhere (here’s where we come back and offer stupid money and wages)
Maybe. Would also be a bad move. Would rather we overpaid for this lad than signed Che Adams or Wout Weghorst though. Hope there's somewhere in between the two ends of the spectrum we land but we always end up going from one extreme to the other.

Starting to get a bit concerned that we’re only being linked with attacking options.

Mina and Coady both gone, Holgate clearly isn’t wanted given his appearances for the U21s. Leaves us Keane, Tarkowski, Branthwaite who hasn’t been tested properly at this level, and Godfrey who hasn’t shown he’s good enough to play cb in the league.

We’re an injury away from serious issues in that part of the pitch.

You would hope there's a few deals going on at once. We definitely need a CB as well

We tried...but again we failed like many enquiries in January. Plan b I guess then with iheanacho which is a very different forward to this guy and less of a target man which is how dyche and everton has been playing for the last season. What can go wrong...

Dare I say it, typical Everton. Why didn’t we offer this amount weeks and weeks ago. If he does chose Atalanta then so be it. We have to go for Inanacho and maybe someone else aswell. Wonder if we go back in for Beto from Udinese.
If it's from the list of strikers we have, we should be going back in for Dia and trying to do a deal involving Maupay. But this is Everton. He had a release clause and we let it lapse so we could chase a player that we were never going to get to come and in doing so have probably missed out on another target.

Absolutely convinced our strikers at the close of the transfer window will be DCL, Che Adams and Neal Maupay.

Does seem odd that one, maybe they thought the release clause was too much. Shame they didn't push for Boniface

Why? We’ve got buttons to use at is. Let’s be real if Dyche knows anything it’s to stick 11 behind a ball. Even at our defensive worse (keane) we were 2/3 quality players away from decent results
