To me, it makes no sense for El Bilal to go to Atalanta.

Yes theyre a good side with a top coach. Yes its a great place to live. Also yes he'll have then played in France, Spain and Italy so good for his development no doubt.

But the premier league is the place to be.
Apart from a good side, a top coach, a great place to live and have played in France, Spain, Italy and rounded his development, what have the Romans ever done for us?

It's not a good situation when a club cant or wont bring through their own talent.

We look like an organisation that only sees its academy as a factory for churning out lower league players that small fees can be made from.

It's the type of short sightedness that will eventually bury you.

An Everton manager has to make a stand and start playing some of these lads. Minutes here and there as appropriate.
Problem is non look good enough and look league 1 standard even with our poor squad you’d of thought they would of got game time Simms and Cannon looked the best options and ended up out on loan then when he was recalled hardly got a chance and had to watch maupay in front of him or someone who isn’t a striker and no presence up top so that being said it’s no surprise they want to move on as well as us moving them on. And as someone else said when your catchment area also has RS, City and United no surprise it’s rare a quality player comes through but we should be seeing more who at least get first team minutes. Heard a lot about mills and first time I seen him was last night only caught the second half in spells but he doesn’t look likely to be involved either.

Here’s your answer as to why Atalanta appears to be his destination. He’s still young so the PL is still a distinct possibility sometime in the coming years.

But right now, it’s a sensible option if he isn’t purely motivated by money and prestige. Still, I do hope he chooses here.

Indeed - he's 21 and on the back of one half decent season, his whole development/reputation will be dictated by his ability to find the back of the net - strikers aren't going to score many in this Everton team. Serie A is kinder than the Prem, and if he does well there he'll get a pick of teams in a year or two.

Even I'm thinking he's not ready to carry our burden. He goes 3 games without scoring or looking decent and the knives will be out.

Being in the premier league ;) Being in the premier league with Everton (n)(n)(n) we can't even offer big wages, we literally must be the last place on earth a young promising talented player wants to be, sad but true! And any advisor/agent worth his salt would be telling his client this.

Just like we tried with Kudus, Broja and another 30 attacking players last season.

Against a backdrop of the last two seasons, it's not good enough.

All I've said for years on here now is the same thing - I'm a massive tedious bore with it but there's not enough creativity/goals in this team to keep us away from a relegation fight. I found it bonkers a lot couldn't see that last summer, and I find it astonishing fans are still putting up an argument against it.

If people want to allow themselves to be convinced we'll be sound with the typical pre-season optimism, then fair play but its bollocks. The reality is we've survived by the smallest of margins for two seasons on the spin now - the last one we finished with our lowest ever points total, and scored just 34 goals - 5 of them coming vs Brighton. No coincidence our best performances under Dyche (Arsenal/Brighton) come with Calvert-Lewin.

The season kicks off in 17 days and we've signed Young and Danjuma.

We don't have a striker who has played one pre-season game - we started last season for 5/6 games without a striker.

It's an absolute disgrace whatever way you spin it.

Dyche is worth a few points - he'll go % football but this squad is fighting relegation no matter the manager because, yet again - it doesn't have the players who can create or score goals.

Give Dyche a decent number 9, and any composure in that final third and we should be sound.
Spot on

Plymouth played some excellent football last season , with a very unusual and interesting formation ( wing backs and two no10s).
Against all the odds and with one of the smaller budgets they were promoted as champions with 100 points .
The manager and DoF are both blues.
They are building a very young team which is very mobile. They need a CDM and that's where they want to play Warrington.
He'd be a good fit and good experience.
Championship is probably the right level for him at the moment .

…..he was a teacher at Cardinal Heenan. I watched his school team play with Sean Doherty (England Schoolboys/Everton) & James McCleveley (Blackburn/Scotland) and he was such an innovative coach. Steven Schumacher was also at Cardinal Heenan (England Schoolboys in the same year as Alan Moogan & John Welch), they will know each other from way back.

Everton snapped Dewsnip up but he left to join the England youth set up. I’d have liked him here as DoF instead of Thelwell, proper football man.
Plymouth added a 4th former Evertonian to their coaching staff a few weeks ago, Peter Cavanagh, He started coaching at Everton alongside Schumacher before moving on to Man City.

This bits quite interesting reference Lewis Warrinton and possibly others heading down there, similar to James Vaughans role but in reverse.

“Secondly, he will act as a liaison between loan players and their parent club to ensure their continued growth during their time with Argyle. “

Plymouth made excellent loan signings last year and are really pushing themselves as a go to destination for PL and Championship teams to send their youngsters to develop and get first team experience.

For us it’s a win-win young Everton players being coached by a team of Everton coaches and playing competitive men’s football.

The plan to get him ‘fit fit’ was lauded by many on here compared to him supposedly being rushed back by Benitez and Lampard.

Yet 3 times under Dyche the lad didn’t make the second half of a match and he didn’t put a run of games together at all. We need to forget about him completely.
Like I said, this is a BIG summer for him. It is clear they have put everything into getting him over his issues

Sure, just we need to sell 2 before buying one i think.
Think it will just be for holgate then cm is the same once we get gones out and gbamin then can bring two in cm/ cb really need both. Honestly have a horrible feeling davies will sign a new deal after training with the team again, think that is how low i think of this club at the minute

Agreed and I think we’re trying to get them as seen by the links to Gnonto and Bilal Toure.

I just don’t understand why when we are heavily linked with players it’s the usual responses of ‘Danjuma will pick Milan’ ‘we won’t be getting Gnonto’ etc. all the same stuff we heard about Onana last summer

Yet one completely unsubstantiated tweet about DCL going on loan for free or god forbid a link to Che Adams and those things are definitely happening and it’s pile on Everton time again.

Let’s wait and see what the squad looks like at the end of the window. It still needs several new additions but we haven’t made a bad start. If we could sign Gnonto plus another striker I think we’d be in a decent position to keep away from relegation.
I understand it at times, but it still drives me insane the constant negativity. There will still be fans saying the ground won’t get finished, when there’s one last seat to put in

I don't want to drive you mad...and you're right that some posters seem to get a kick out of being as pessimistic about the club and its prospects as possible...but this is the right time for negativity. I'd sooner we whined about how we have been let down by lack of planning now than moan at the players struggling to do their best when the season starts

is Toure not off to Atalanta then? Cant see anything reasonably trustable saying we're still in it?
well either Myers is right and we are still in or Atalanta's media team are as slow as ours and all is done & dusted and Romano will post his HERE WE GO Toure to Atalanta in the next 48 hours lol

He got Burnley finishing 7th and Europe tbf.

But more important than that, he knows how to win a gun fight with a knife - and that's exactly where we are and what we need until we're in a position to kick on again.

Once, in a season where we were so worried about relegation we had to get allerdyce in and we finished 2 points behind them that season.

The rest of the time it was 14th, 16th finishes ect
