Have I? Thanks for that Gareth. I see enough social media cry babies on here to be arsed scratching about on other teams forums.
I have seen more than enough of Maguire, he peaked and is now very firmly on the decline. His recovery “powers” are basically fouls for any other team in the league barring the Premier league‘s chosen few clubs. I’d absolutely rather have Tarkowski than him.

He is average, an English clogger that likes to hoof and head, and turns as slow as Keane.

Mental how much we over-rate our own players.

Maguire would start for around 14 or 20 prem teams.

For decades the best teams have had a player like Tarkowski. Typically with a ball playing centre back alongside him.

I dont think he and Branthwaite will be 'average' as a partnership once theyve had a chance to bed in together.

Am I the only one who wouldnt mind Che Adams? lol I know he's not prolific but he's much better suited to our play than Maupay and he can easily play as a lone number 9.
I kinda get this as well. He's never been a prolific goalscorer and likely never will be, but he fits that particular niche of a 'dynamic' front man much better than Maupay does.

If it came to a straight decision between Adams and Maupay I'd have Adams 1000%.

Because some fantasists believe we can get a player under 25 from some European club who can jump into the side and score 15+ goals for less than £20mill (all based if the club accept drip payments).

Realists believe someone like Che would fit straight in, get us 5-8 goals, suit the style, build up play, wouldn't cost the earth, low wages, and no doubt would be an easy transfer.

The fantasists don’t even like it when we are linked with a teenage European striker. Everton literally can’t win with them.

There’s no scenario where Everton beat a host of CL clubs to a top European prospect who is guaranteed to score double figure goals in his first season in the prem. None. People need to wake up and realise this. We might get lucky and find a player the top clubs haven’t looked at but in that case he’d be a complete unproven unknown.

Che Adams I couldn’t care less either way, as you say he’d be cheap and a short term option and not first choice, everyone knows his strengths and everyone knows his limits. What annoys me more is this place hates any mention of him for all the wrong reason.

They don’t hate being linked with him because he’s not brilliant. He’s bullied us loads of times in games in the past, and countless times when he’s played us there’s been people on here saying we could do with him etc. So he’s clearly a handful, and probably someone who might be useful to Everton as an option from the bench on a low wage. They hate the link because all some people on here seem to see is a confirmation of Brexit ball Dyche, Thelwell’s scouting area, and worst of all a chance for the kopite media and their kopite mates to have a poke at us for buying a player that fits the first two categories. This perceived embarrassment seems to be more important to some people than whether someone like Che Adams or Weghorst or McTominay or Maguire etc would improve the squad. I actually think every single player I’ve listed would improve the squad (not that I want us to buy them all)

But no I’m sure there’s a young Suarez or Haaland with Everton posters on their bedroom walls who’s guaranteed to hit 20 in his first season and somehow hasn’t yet been scouted by the CL teams.

This is literally Maguire.

Maguire is leagues better than carthorse Keane. Ten Haag doesn’t like him sure but he’s been first choice centreback for England at a time when Keane hasn’t even been a consideration for the squad. It’s one thing to say he’s not as good as Varane and Martinez but he’s miles better than Keane.

These people reach these conclusions because we play conservatively against the sky six or when needs must. they want us to play like prime 1970 Brazil away to City, and would whinge like a toddler about how Dyche is tactically clueless when we get hammered 9-0

Michail tells a story, between gasps of laughter, of someone shitting into a teammate’s shoe and it being discovered by the unfortunate victim. The boys found this unbearably funny. Other sample comments from their dressing rooms are that “the banter is unreal” though Callum can’t match the shoe poo and confesses at Newcastle United it is “just cutting socks off – the usual banter.” Of course.

Best tell the lads to give their boots a shake before putting them on.

We scored 34 goals last season, 8 of those across two fixtures - 5 at Brighton at 3 against Palace - so 26 in 36 fixtures, 43 the season before and 47 the year before that.

We are looking at Young, Danjuma and potentially the Portuguese kid, Sulemana and Adams ({if true) to add an additional 10 -15 goals - possible?
