Don’t forget Maupay was “better than Rondon” too, which was the justification for signing him.
Yes, We can still have better than what weve got and them still being not good enough.

Antonio and Adams fall into that category.

Burnley have signed about 5 players, how doesn’t that count as strengthening?
They've lost Tella Maatsen and Harwood Bellis at the moment aswell though and they were three key players last year for them so its probably not an obvious improvement especially when the players they've signed are Nathan Redmond and 2 goalies who've never played a game at the top level I can't imagine we'd be too happy on here if that was our business.

Afternoon mates.

Welcome to the 2nd of August Everton transfer 💩 show…..

I’ve tried to bundle together as many of the transfer rumours flying around, combining them into one bite size and heart burn inducing portion for your dining pleasure.

I make some apology for some of the sources and articles used.

Sporting Club de Portugal striker Youssef Chermiti is yet to finalise a deal with Everton, with the two sides currently apart on wage expectations but expected to find a compromise soon. That’s according to O Jogo and Record, who both say while there is an and agreement in principle between the two clubs, the player is yet to finalise his terms.

Everton have seduced Sporting CP striker Youssef Chermiti with a second offer of personal terms ahead of his move to Goodison Park, according to Record. The Portuguese newspaper has reported in its print edition [02 August, pg 7] that Chermiti refused the first offer on the table, before Everton smoothed things over on the second attempt.

Everton have now joined the race to sign Manchester United's Harry Maguire, with Sean Dyche believed to be a huge admirer of the defender, according to a recent report from TEAMtalk.

Everton are now reportedly growing frustrated in their attempts to sign Leeds United forward Wilfried Gnonto this summer. The Toffees have made the ‘quality’ Italian international a primary target this summer, making a £15m bid last month, which was rejected by Daniel Farke’s side.

Everton must consider signing Chelsea attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi despite his prior injury nightmares, believes Dr Rajpal Brar. The injury expert has reacted to the transfer links with the 22-year-old who appears to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer. 90min reported on 15 July that the Toffees were ready to sell him with the London club willing to cash in on his services.

Preston North End are on the verge of landing Tom Cannon. That’s according to Alan Nixon, who has reported on his Patreon that the Lilywhites have won the race for the Everton striker.

Everton want to sign West Ham striker Michail Antonio to replace Demarai Gray after reaching a verbal agreement with Fulham, according to The Guardian.

Salernitana Director of Football Morgan de Sanctis has now addressed Everton’s reported interest in 26-year-old centre-forward Boulaye Dia. Everton have been linked with an approach for the Senegal international, though ‘no official offers’ have been made as of yet. That is according to Italian outlet Sporting del Sud, who report that de Sanctis states that Salernitana want to have a ‘strong and complete’ squad ahead of the coming Serie A season.

Everton are reportedly looking to target Southampton’s Kamaldeen Sulemana after continually facing delays in their pursuit of Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto. According to the Times, the club is keeping tabs on the Ghanian and are looking to sign him on loan after failing to secure his services during the January window. He instead opted to move to Southampton from Rennes in a deal worth up to £22m but couldn’t help the Saints avoid relegation.

According to reports, Che Adam’s is in the middle of a three-way tussle between Premier League also-rans Everton, Wolves, and Bournemouth, with Adams entering the final year of his contract at St. Mary’s. It is suggested that the trio are hopeful that they can secure a ‘bargain’ deal for the ex-Birmingham City prodigy given his waning contract situation on the south coast, although it is unclear exactly how much of their original £15 million outlay Southampton might look to recoup at this stage.

It's all well and good bashing every striker that we're linked with and proclaiming that they won't score goals. Everyone seems to be missing a key issue. For a LONG time, strikers at Everton have had to make their own luck. The supply from the midfield is pathetic. Our build up play is obvious and tedious. It has been for as long as I can remember. We must have the slowest counter attack.

You can stick whoever you want up front, but with our lack of service (or horrific passes/crosses) they're not going to score many.

We have 2 massive issues, both concerning the same group of players. The midfield have awful distribution and the midfield don't step up and share out the goals enough.
Agreed you would hope Danjuma helps a bit with that and that Garner eventually takes over from Gana as Garner offers more on the ball

Ah, the 5-8 goals that loads of people said Maupay would score last year. Realism. Got it.

He probably would have if we passed the ball instead of hoofed it up to him and told him to hold it up.

He was brought in to be a different option to Dom. Probably be someone to play off him and be part of a team that played "between the lines" as Lampard once said.

Maupay never had the attributes to the style of play.

Big Che does.

Don’t forget Maupay was “better than Rondon” too, which was the justification for signing him.

He is better than Rondon...if you passed him the ball.

He was Brightons top goal scorer for 3 seasons in the premiership. Do we play like Brighton?

Theres your answer.

The problem with Rondon was...he couldn't run.

Agreed you would hope Danjuma helps a bit with that and that Garner eventually takes over from Gana as Garner offers more on the ball
Same mate. Garner is the type of player who won't be scared to play it forward and take a chance. It's criminal how many of them constantly do a safe sideways/backwards pass and in some cases, actually mark themselves out of receiving it back.

Looks like long term planning to me:

Defence: Branthwaite / Patterson
Midfield: Garner / Onana
Attacking Midfield: McNeil
Centre forward: Chermiti(?)

All of them under 23.

Why have you put a link to this commercial deal article in the transfer thread?

Mischief making ?
Not a link chief...just a photo.
I wouldn't wipe me ass with that rag.

My concern with Antonio is hes prone to injury spells himself if my memory is right.

Lads a handful. Remember seeing him live a few times, hes huge, a beast of a man.
Few years ago he was a unit that produced. Now a treatment table liability.
