We've been a club in chaos for a while now.

Find some stability over the next year or two, and with the new stadium perception will quickly change.
In addition over the next couple of seasons the deadwood players will have left the club so wages should come back to more manageable levels.
The best of our young players should also start to fill out the squad, players like Branthwaite, Dobbin, Onyango ,Cannon ,Mills, Welch and there may be others coming that I have not mentioned

Here's our top scorers for the last few years. He'd be classed as one of our more prolific players. We just aren't very good and haven't been for about 35 years.

Adding a player who is notorious for not scoring goals to a team who are notorious for not scoring goals isn’t going to end well.

And Mcneil with 7 was our top scorer last year

Problem is if its between Adams and Iheanacho, fans will complain either way as Adams can do a job as a number nine but doesn't score much and Ohneancho isn't really a number nine who fits our system but can score more goals... I'd take the latter of the two but no forward we get isn't without flaw because we are shopping in a limited pool. That's if they aren't looking at a forward from another league

Antonio is 34 in March, if we signed him we could very realistically field a starting XI that includes about 9 over 30 players, 5 of which would be out of contract the following summer. That’s not at all feasible or a good plan.
We also have Patterson, Mykolenko,Onana, Garner, McNeill ,Branthwaite and soon ( hopefully) Chermiti to counterbalance that argument. All 23 or younger not even mentioning Dobbin and Onyango who seem to be part of the first team squad so far this preseason.

I can accept bringing the players over 30 as long as well also bring in the young players which are the future of the club.

Given the choice of those 2 I would rather go with Adams. But it’s quite bad either way. I think we are more set up to play with a striker like Adams

Same...no contest really
But Iheanacho doesn't run himself ragged like Adams and our fanbase sometimes rate that higher than end product
If Nacho is going on the cheap with no extortionate wages we'd be improved instantly

Nope. Just buy some well scouted talent. I just cannot abide by the attitude of 'we're already bad, so let's buy more players we know are bad, this is just the way it has to be.'

It's absolute rubbish mate. People act like it's either being able to compete for the top talent, or buying proven PL dross. It's just not that black and white. It will be many of the same people furious with the board that we are a continued laughing stock and absolutely rubbish to both watch and in terms of points totals.
Do you mean players like Branthwaite, Patterson, Onana, Garner, McNeill and now Chermitie.
We were also thwarted in the Kudus deal by Antony moving to Utd.

so we wait all day and any updates will come tonight LOL. I guess either a HERE WE GO on the Portuguese lad pending a medical or Cannon to Preston.

by the way read a dubious link saying bournemouth had a bid rejected for Adams and Southampton not selling on the cheap. Hoep the fact they want Holgate might pursuade them
