I hope Spurs don’t go ahead with Lukaku. I think he would be a great signing for them. Just an instant Kane replacement. I still don’t understand why we haven’t made any sort of enquiry.

But also hear me out on this one….Solanke? 25 years old, 6 foot 2, seems to of matured and would surly get more goals with us than at Bournemouth. If they get Che Adams then maybe take a punt on him?

Rom was great at us but he looks past it to me now.

5 strikers in world football?

Toney scored 20 goals last season.
Wilson got 18 last season.

Lukaku could do the same.

We create plenty of opportunities to score we just have Maupay or DCL, both poor finishers.

Lukaku would score 20 a season for us playing each week.

“20 goals a season” means guaranteed more or less every season. Not as a one off. Lukaku would not get anywhere near 20 in this team. He didn’t get anywhere near it for Chelsea or United. Yes I’m aware he got it once for us 7 years ago.

Minutes to goals (which is what proper clubs look at when recruiting) is very good. Don't want him though, just saying.
Proper clubs look at a lot more than minutes to goals when scouting players thats about the most basic measurement there is! I've already been over why I don't think that makes any difference because he's 26 nearly 27 and he's not at a top club where the lack of minutes is easily explained the fact is he's had 6 seasons at Leicester and only scored more than 5 goals once so theres no reason to suppose he would do much better than that here that alls i'm saying.

I must have missed that improvement bit sorry as I seen the same old issues Saturday.

But I'll wait until the end of the window as all being well we'll get the players in required to see us not in another relegation scrap

You don't think we've improved?

We dominated most of the game against a team we lost 3-1 to last season, had a goal wrongly ruled out at 0-0.

Using your same scenario….I would probably favour Richarlison on loan, if Lukaku did go there as I think he would become a benchwarmer again (appreciate it would be another left sided attacker though)

Unless we got Rom on like 10% of his wages it's a miss from me. I genuinely love Lukaku but we had his best years here and I'd rather not have the type of player he is now in the team.

I know it’s stating the bleeding obvious but we also need to get a move on, not least because of our potentially perilous start to the campaign, but also because whoever we buy or loan from, that club needs to get a replacement. Always baffles me when we go for someone that late in the window, that the selling or loaning club has no time to get a replacement and so won’t do business with us.
Tbh I didn't expect any more signings until deadline day. Yesterday was a surprise but as we've seen, the potential for things to go wrong is always there and only increases if you have all but hours to get a deal done. It's possible that they put in for multiple deals then and fail to pull any of them off.

It's a huge concern, and we simply can't have some post-deadline statement saying how hard they tried, and how tough the market is, and Dyche excusing it. The whole window is a disaster if we fail to get a competent forward in. It doesn't matter how many more or who else we sign. If they fail that test, then the whole summer has been for nothing.

Lukaku:

Injured often
Horrendous personality
More drama than goals
Wouldn't score in this team
Isn't a long-term fix
His wages would probably pause the stadium build
He wouldn't come here so not sure why people are advocating it, but IF he was willing and at an acceptable wage we should be all over it.

His personality is a bit grim when he's always asking to leave, but some of your other points are wrong.

Injured often? He's played nearly 500 games in the last 11 years, he hasn't played less than 35 games a season since he was a teenager.

He's scored goals at every club he's been at, and he'd 100000000% score goals here ( maybe not as many as he did previously ) he would have scored a couple on Saturday

Prefer to keep Cannon and loan him as he has something about him. If he does as well this season as his last short spell he should hit 15+ goals which is a good return.

Suppose needs must though and if it helps us get Gnonto then fair enough. Hope we get a buyback clause if he goes as I think he will be worth at least double the rumoured £8m next year.
8m would be very good for Cannon right now and I doubt we’d turn it down. He MIGHT bang them in next season but he’s not played enough senior football yet to be sure that wasn’t just a purple patch.

Depends on the view on Chermiti too. He’s 18 months younger than Cannon. If the view is he’s already as good or better then we might as well sell Cannon.

Dunno if it’s been posted but Udinese’s local rag says they are considering an offer from us for Beto.

He’s not injured that often

There is no way that Rom caused more drama than goals in his time here or has a horrendous personality, the only thing he did was say he wanted to play in the champions league when he played for us and he thought he could get to elite levels which he went on to do after we got mega money for selling him

He would’ve absolutely scored doucoures one on one or one of Maupay’s chances against Fulham, no doubt in my mind

His wages would be the same as Mina’s last season I would imagine as we wouldn’t pay more for anyone

He won’t come here anyway but you were being way to harsh on him, he’s probably the best striker we’ve had in my 30 odd years watching the blues
