Being linked to Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester, can understand it with Tom Davies going we need a central midfielder replacement, also need someone who can replace Gana eventually

The link was from the Echo who linked a gambling company offering odds of where he'll end up next. But there wasn't any actual genuine link.

Unless there's a new link today but wouldn't be surprised if it just stems from the betting link.

Hope we don’t, absolutely the wrong time to be buying him when his value is at its maximum.

At 40 million, I don't think we could complain tbh. He'd be able to play RM and centre forward, and would effectively be a massive upgrade on Anthony Gordon. It's not gona happen though, I can't see Johnson swapping Forest for Everton right now.

I'd be thrilled if we signed Brennan Johnson. Only 22 and a long term threat from right wing.

Would be ideal for a direct counter attacking side.

Take it these don't know we're skint.
No one knows the budget situation really. The FFP position is better than last summer and we have had 65m of sales since then, plus we may make one more big sale this summer if the right offer comes in.

We managed to pull out one 30m signing last summer when no one expected it and imo it wouldn’t be a surprise to stretch to a couple of big signings this summer even without further sales.

Would be a good signing, think he’s got a good career ahead of him, much better than our Tom unfortunately

With Leicester having gone down and premier league quality players needing to be moved on I’d love to see us take Dewsbury-Hall and Barnes - good young players already proven but with high ceilings

Mate I really hope you're right but you'll be able to knock me down with a feather if we shell out over 30mil on one player...even if that money is available I'd expect it to be over a few signings.

If true and we did sign Brennan Johnson we would finally have a top notch rapid right winger to follow Kanchelskis.

He netted 11 goals and 5 assists for Lincoln.

Then 18 goals and 10 assists for Forest.

Last season 8 goals and 3 assists.

He was one of the key factors in them finishing 2pts ahead of us. Put him into a better team (which we would be with him and a CF joining) and the stats will increase.

It will be disappointing if the rumour isnt true now lol thats how good i think he is and can be lol

No offence but where is this money coming from ? We just took a 40m bridging loan and looking to borrow 100m, seemingly for the stadium. We also spent nada in January.

I hope I'm wrong, but indications so far are that we are scraping around for money from elsewhere to keep going.

When we sold Richarlison we were in a worse position FFP wise.

We still brought in the likes if Onana and others for more than the Richarlison fee.

Now weve seen Gordon and Kean leave for circa £70mil and weve had January bids involving summer obligations between £30-45mil.

Id be amazed if we werent able to spend over £30mil...

If the figure is ~30m the challenge will be how many positions that has to cover - when probably it needs to all go on a striker.

I guess loans and frees for the rest ?

….wondered why they had him on the bench for a few of their final games & wasn’t impressed when watching him closely in the play-off final last season. He has looked a danger in games this season but I think £40m is steep, that there’s better value out there and he’d surely be looking for a step-up if he left Forest.

He is brilliant. I was banging the drum for him when Forest were in the Championship. Let's be real though, not a chance of this. Forest wouldn't sell, I'd bet he wouldn't want the move and it would take a ridiculous fee that would be better spent elsewhere.

Boat's been well and truly missed on this one I'm afraid.

He'd join Everton, but theres no way we have the money to sign Brennan Johnson, Forest would ask for 40minimum, so write that one off.

I'd like some form of cover at left back aswell just so we've got balance on the pitch...am sick of square pegs in round holes.
Mykolenko wouldn't be the worst option, but he's not great. Godfrey has played his only decent games in that position, so if we're that cash strapped we have to go with them we'll have to do that.

Ideally we could get someone like Hickey at Brentford in who can play both FB roles - left and right.
