He may well do but theyve got a new manager since then who may prefer Spanish or just others in general.

For us, Smith-Rowe, Alex Scott and Gibbs-White are the profile that may suit both Thelwell and Dyche.

Theres a risk level that Everton, as a (relegation threatened club 2 seasons in a row) cant afford to take.

We need a couple of 'ready made' players. But the catch is that they should also have alot of potential to increase their resale value...so should be u23 age.

If for example we had the choice of Balogun(21) for £26mil or Gyokeres(24) for £18-20mil would you do it? Or go for the likes of Hojlund for £35-40mil?

For attacking midfield if it was Smith-Rowe, Alex Scott and Morgan Gibbs-White we could sign for £25-35mil would you do it or aim for someone under £15mil who is relatively unknown?

We will have a limited budget and have 4 first 11 positions to look at. I dont think we can afford to take a risk on 4 players for under £15mil each...better to bring in 2 for £30mil each for example and a couple of loans.
Emery will know ESR from Arsenal days

We shouldn't spend 25m or more on any single player. I'd absolutely rather risk it on multiple players hoping a few come good. One guy at 25m has to work and it might not. More money doesn't always guarantee better returns. We have to be shrewd.

Ahhh the Marcel Brands model.

Hopefully Mosh (and the new board?) Can learn from past mistakes and refrain from spunking cash and wages on dross / has been's. They should take a leaf out of Brighton's book and scout for emerging players, who are not only talented but are on realistic and more importantly sustainable wage.

It probably works if we have the wisdom to realize what we are, this time around. We are not a club pursuing the European places spending 25 million pounds per player. We are a club that has to hit a home run every time we commit that level of resources. I can't really fault either of the last two DoFs given the impossible remits they were handed. A DoF is not Hercules. Doesn't matter who they are, they are not pulling off the Twelve Labors.

Anyway, I fully support the scouting model of a series of Zat v. Nym Thunderdome matches to determine the club's targets. They both have a well-informed eye, and may the man with the most commitment to their position on the prospect win.

Branthwaite £1.5m
Dom £2m
Stones £3.5m
Garner £9m
Patterson £9m
Lookman £9m (made a profit)
Vlasic £10m (made a profit)

Buying cheap hasn’t exactly not gone well for us really.
Absolutely fair. I think I'm on record saying that we need a mix - signings like these, and the win-now ones. I wish we didn't need the latter, but we quickly moved from win-now to finish seventh to win-now to finish seventeenth.
