There's no fire right now. We have the same number of points as everyone else. We shouldn't be signing a bunch of 19 year Olds that aren't ready but there's a tier of player that is both good enough now and possessing and upside that could make us quite a bit better in a few years that we should be after.
The fire is the financial situation, both FFP and the financial pressure from building the stadium. It’s depressing but the truth is the aim is just to get to the stadium still in the PL, and if we do given the financial constraints compared to the rest of the league that will probably represent a decent achievement. That’s going to require a few more windows of pragmatic spending on solid players for here and now before we can start investing in riskier more exciting prospects.

We don't need to pray and hope. Just start making better decisions. First step: don't spend big on relegated players because they're "better than what we have now"
I get it. And I do agree that we shouldn't be doing cartwheels if we bring in, say, Harrison and Gyokeres for 35m. But I don't see any behind the scenes genius who has a better plan and is in a position to carry it out. Next year is the year of Dycheball. Let's at least find a couple of guys who know how to play it. Sad, I know...

The idea that buying players with upside isn't pragmatic enough is so frustrating. The only sensible approach isn't buying average at best PL players in a desperate attempt at being an average team.

Going to be really fun when Dyche is sacked in January and the next guy has a further disjointed pile of crap.

If Johnny Giles thinks we're going down then we are definitely competing for CL next season lol
He's a shocking pundit
e.g. criticising the RS's high line one time when they'd had about 12 clean sheets on the bounce
He compares everything to the 70s as if his leeds team were the peak of football both past and future
I endured Giles and Dunphy at Rovers. Two know it alls who pontificate about the game. Jim McLoughlin delivered three league titles and two FAI Cups in his three years after taking over from those mouthpieces and Keely delivered another double in the 4th season.

Giles seems to hate Everton. Very few Rovers fans have much time for him or Dunphy.

Richarlison’s best season was 13 goals and that was with DCL up top. I fancy McNeil to put numbers like that on the board if we get an actual striker who does things like hold the ball up and lay it into good areas.

Big if though …
only difference mate that Richy did it in every season he played for us. It was only Mc Neil's first season with decent numbers. So i hope his goalscoring form continues next season. let's hope so, i was made up McNeil's form has been transformed and he has got goals in him under Dyche.

A pair of Mouthy muppets for sure lol
The best thing about them was the Apres match skits, or Zig & Zag skits of them.
Helped us endure them!

They won't get Ward-Prowse, but they need to find a guy that can score on free kicks. They will never be able to do enough in the transfer window to dramatically improve their scoring, but if your key to survival is going to be 1-0 and 2-1 wins having a chance to score on free kicks could be critical.

Aaron Martin gives good set piece. Hopefully we are going all out to convince him as he solves two problems.
